Chapter 128

The next day, Leo found out that Hathaway had a few days off work, so he came over to see her and brought Evelyn along.
I’ve been here for days, and we still haven’t gone out for some fun. We used to go out together all the time Why don’t we check out that old town outside the city? It’s quiet, not crowded, and the scenery’s pretty nice Leo suggested.
Sylvia knew her daughter would be bored at home, so she didn’t object. Seeing Hathaway’s friends, she smiled gently. “Go ahead and have some fun.
“You three know each other, so you can look out for one another. Come back early, don’t stay out too late
Hathaway was more than happy to go.
They all piled into one car for the trip.
As soon as Evelyn got in, she leaned back in the back seat to catch up on some sleep and was out like a light in no time. Hathaway sat in the passenger seat, chatting with Leo as he drove.
After an hour and a half on the road, the car finally rolled into the old town.
Evelyn stretched lazily and asked Leo, “Your grandpa’s handing the company over to you, and you’re out here sightseeing all day? Don’t you care?”
“He says he’s handing it over, but I bet he’s still waiting for his precious grandson, Leo said with a hint of sarcasm. “Ever since Lucas left again, he’s been eating less at every meal.”
They got out of the car and strolled along the cobblestone path.
Quaint bridges arched over gentle streams, with whitewashed walls and dark roof tiles lining the way.
Hathaway snapped a few photos as they walked.
They hadn’t gone far when a delicious, savory aroma drifted over. Up ahead, a long line stretched out from a small, unassuming stall. It was a simple savory pancake stand.
Even though it wasn’t the weekend, the line was still huge. The scent of freshly cooked pancakes and egges made Evelyn and Hathaway stop in their tracks.
“Doesn’t that look amazing?” Evelyn said, her mouth watering.
Hathaway nodded. “Too bad the line’s so long. If we want some, we’ll have to wail ages.
“Want somet That’s easy.” Leo said with a cocky grin. He was a total pro at breaking the foe, never afraid to lun things up in a crowd.
With that, he strode right up to the front of the long line and called out. ‘Hey, pancakes are on me today! Ull cover everyone’s under. Come on, let me clit this once I only need three!”

Most of the people in line were young, and when they heard someone was being treated, they laughed and stepped aside, letting them through without a fuss.
Evelyn had been dragging Hathaway away, trying to stay out of the spotlight, but when the crowd agreed they finally shuffled over, a bit embarrassed.
Hathaway’s cheeks flushed a little, and as she slipped into the line, she quietly thanked the girl behind her
The girl behind Hathaway couldn’t help but stare. Her lashes were long and curled, her skin so smooth that in was almost like cream. Hathaway was so stunning that it felt like seeing a movie star in real life.
The girl was so mesmerized that she forgot to say anything.
When Hathaway’s turn came, she ordered her pancake with chicken, seafood sauce, chili sauce, and whatever else they had.
The aroma was so tempting that it made their mouths water.
After buying their pancakes and tipping generously, the three of them found a spot at the bridge to sit down. The warm breeze was right, gently brushing their faces.
Hathaway held up her pancake, took a pic for Instagram, then took a bite. It was delicious!
After finishing the whole thing, she felt like she didn’t need dinner.
Even though she’d already eaten it all, Hathaway still captioned her Instagram post. [First bite goes to my fans.]
She attached a photo..
Ever since she saved Griffin, her followers had skyrocketed.
Hathaway giggled after posting, and since the other two had already finished their pancakes, they were waiting for her. Then they spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the old town.
As the sun was setting and they were about to head out, Leo said, “I want to take a photo with a girl on each
arm.
“Didn’t you start dating a rising star?” Evelyn asked, frowning
“Yeah, so I want to make her feel a little jealous,” Leo replied.
Leo flagged down a random passerby and asked them to snap a photo.
Evelyn wasn’t exactly on board, but she went along and struck a pose. Once the picture was done and the stranger walked off, Evelyn muttered, “Honestly, that starlet can’t hold a candle to Scarleu
“Scarlet’s a real A–lister. She’s way out of my league. Leo said with a regretful sight. “I can barely afford to date a rookie, let alone a superstar.
On the way back, Hathaway took the wheel

Leo sat in the passenger seat, while Evelyn was already knocked out in the back. Leo glanced at her and thought. ‘She sleeps like a pig. How can anyone nap this much in a single day?
Bored, he posted on Instagram from the passenger seat.
He uploaded the group photo of the three of them.
Sure enough, the pic of him with a girl on each arm got tons of likes.
Meanwhile, Jeremiah got home, took a shower, and loosely draped a bathrobe over himself. He was drying his hair with a towel, idly scrolling through Instagram.
He wasn’t really paying attention, but his gaze suddenly locked onto the screen.
On the screen, Hathaway was standing by the old stone bridge in the ancient town, with flowing water and dark roof tiles behind her.
The wind lifted a few loose strands at her temples, and she smiled softly, her eyes curving with a bright, clear light.
Sunlight fell across her cheeks, highlighting her creamy, flawless skin, and that subtle smile at the corner of her lips was captivating.
Her mood was written all over her face.
Without realizing it, Jeremiah’s hand stilled, towel frozen mid–air.
Jeremiah: [Where are you?]
Leo was surprised when he got a text from Jeremiah.
He sat up straight, feeling both honored and a little thrilled, and replied: [At Sliverain Town.]
Worried Jeremiah might not know the place, Leo quickly Googled it and sent him a link.
Then, carefully, he typed: [You coming over?]
Jeremiah: [No.]
Leo thought, Figures, he was making small talk!
Anyway, they were about to leave.
If he wasn’t coming, then whatever…
Otherwise, he’d have to show the boss around again.
Jerensial stared at his phone, then pulled out a cigarette
When Eleatior came in, she opened the window for him: “You’ve been smoking a lot lately, haven’t you?”
