Evelyn walked out of the elevator arm–in–arm with Leo. As soon as they stepped out, her eyes landed on a familiar figure ahead. It was Elaine, Jessica’s cousin.

Evelyn’s eyes flickered, a hint of surprise in her gaze. She tugged at Leo’s sleeve and whispered, “Look, someone from Jessica’s family is here at the hospital, too.”
