The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl (Hathaway Whitmore) novel Chapter 201

Chapter 201 The Official Breakup

The car pulled into the garage and stopped right next to the elevator.

Victor switched to another car to head home, since Mr. Blackwood was still in the first one. He thought the two of them were keeping it low–key today, but Hathaway just had to stir things up at the last minute.

Victor took off in the other car, leaving the two still all wrapped up in each other in the backseat. He just hoped they wouldn’t suffocate.

As Victor drove past Jessica, he rolled down the window and said, “Ms. Kingsley, you should leave now.”

“Mr. Blackwood is busy. He’s got a guest today,” he added.

Jessica looked up in surprise. “What kind of guest? Male or female? Are they here already?”

Victor hadn’t expected so many questions from just one sentence. He almost slipped up, so he quickly said, “Not yet. Ms. Kingsley, you should go home first.”

Jessica paused, afraid the guest would realize she’d just been dumped.

Victor didn’t bother with her after that and just drove off.

Meanwhile, Hathaway and Jeremiah headed upstairs, and the servants quickly brought out a spread of fancy dishes for them.

Hathaway took a few bites, but just couldn’t bring herself to eat much. Back home, she’d usually manage at least a small bowl, but here, she just didn’t have the appetite.

“Not hungry? Guess love’s enough for you, huh?” Jeremiah teased, his mouth running off again. “Guess I’ll have to make up for it later.”

Hathaway felt her stomach clench.

She couldn’t even remember why she’d ever liked him in her previous life.

‘His voice alone annoyed her now, Hathaway thought.

‘Just seeing his face made her even more anxious,‘ Hathaway felt.

‘As soon as she dealt with Jessica, she’d kick Jeremiah to the curb without a second thought,‘ Hathaway decided.

Hathaway forced herself to take a few more bites, but she totally lost her appetite. She wandered over to the second–floor window and glanced down. Jessica was still standing there.

When Jeremiah came up, he asked, “Why aren’t you turning on the lights?”

“Don’t turn them on,” Hathaway cut in quickly, her voice a little tense.

“Relax, these windows are specially treated. Even if the lights are on, no one outside can see a thing,” Jeremiah reassured her.

Hathaway kept her eyes fixed on the window. “Your girlfriend’s still out there in the drizzle. Doesn’t that tug at your heart? She really can’t let you go, just keeps it all bottled up. Honestly, I’m so moved.”

Hathaway knew, deep down, that with someone like Jessica, nothing was out of reach. Whatever she wanted, she’d find a way.

Money, power, the whole package, Jessica could snag it all if she wanted.

Sooner or later, she’d get whatever she wanted. It was just a matter of time.

‘Let’s see how long Jeremiah can hang in there, Hathaway thought.

Jeremiah shrugged, “We’re done. She’s not my girl anymore.”

Hathaway froze, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at him. “You already broke up with her? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“What difference would it make? Would you suddenly get all affectionate?” Jeremiah teased, giving her cheek a playful pinch. “Honestly, I bet you’d just run even further away from me.”

Hathaway’s emotions churned, and she blurted out, “When did you break up with her?”

“Almost half a year ago,” Jeremiah replied.

Hathaway snatched his phone, her eyes blazing with determination. “Announce the breakup right now.”

She wanted to see Jessica fall into hell.

“The sooner you make it clear and cut ties, the better. If you keep dragging things out, she’ll just keep taking advantage of you. Most of her business partners are only sticking around because of your reputation,” Hathaway said.

Jeremiah raised an eyebrow. “Does it really matter?”
