The Billionaire Heir Fell for the Wrong Girl (Hathaway Whitmore) novel Chapter 200

Chapter 200 A Different Person

After Magnus Bergen got out of prison, he met with his grandfather. Not long after, Jeremiah’s men came to bring him over.

Yvonne stuck close to Magnus, feeling uneasy the whole time. She couldn’t shake the worry, so she tagged along. When they arrived at Blackwood Group, she stayed in the car by herself, anxiously waiting and glancing at the entrance every few minutes.

After what felt like ages, Magnus finally walked out of the building.

Yvonne rolled down the window right away. The moment Magnus got in, she asked urgently, “Uncle, what did Jeremiah want with you?”

Magnus replied, “He just had some questions for me.”

Yvonne pressed on, “Come on, what did he really ask you?”

Magnus said, “It was Hathaway who saved Jeremiah that night on the yacht. She stayed with him until dawn, then slipped away quietly. But when Jeremiah woke up in the morning, he left the hotel with Jessica.”

Yvonne’s jaw dropped. She’d always thought Jessica was the one who saved Jeremiah. Everyone believed it, that was the rumor everywhere. ‘Was I wrong all along?‘ she wondered.

Magnus said, “Hathaway brought Jessica in just so she could take the credit for saving Jeremiah.”

Yvonne looked completely confused, her face full of doubt. “Why would Hathaway do something like that?”

“I don’t know,” Magnus replied.

Yvonne just couldn’t wrap her head around it. She frowned, her mind drifting back to her school days.

Back then, her grandfather had pushed her to pursue Jeremiah, saying he was unpredictable and rebellious, and probably wouldn’t just go along with Edmund’s plan to marry him off to Hathaway.

So he told her to try to get involved with Jeremiah herself. It seemed like she and Hathaway were both after the same goal, which was probably why they couldn’t stand each other and were always at each other’s throats.

‘If Hathaway really saved Jeremiah, shouldn’t she have used that to go after the title of Mrs. Blackwood? Why didn’t she even make a move?‘ Yvonne wondered.

But three years had passed in the blink of an eye, and in the end, they still ended up together.

Yvonne said, “Forget about them.”

“Uncle, you’ve had a rough time in there. Tomorrow, when you head overseas, just focus on your work and make sure Grandpa doesn’t have to worry about you.”

Magnus sighed, “But Hathaway is getting prettier every day.”

Yvonne said, “Uncle, seriously, don’t even go there. We did everything we could, called in favors, begged people, to get you out, but in the end, it was only Hathaway who made it happen. You need to keep your distance from her now. Don’t stir up any more drama!”

Magnus knew exactly what she meant. “I was just saying…”

Yvonne said, “Good.” She thought, ‘Hathaway had no choice but to grow up. Who wants to waste their youth cooped up in an office every day? If it were me, I’d hate that too.

Lately, so much has happened.

The Sutton Group openly welcomed Zachary back, not caring at all about Vivian’s protests.

Jeremiah put Vivian in charge of Blackwood Entertainment. Edmund called Jeremiah back to the family estate, and Jeremiah admitted he just couldn’t juggle everything himself. He’s only human, after all.

After the Sutton family officially acknowledged Zachary, Darius quickly arranged a marriage for her, and the news spread like wildfire.

When Hathaway got the news, she fumbled and dropped the baby bottle, startling the baby into loud, frantic cries. Flustered, Hathaway tried to calm the little one, but her hands were shaking.

The nanny quickly took the baby from her arms, and Mary came over to sweep up the shards of glass. Hathaway, still rattled, stood up and headed back to her room.

Not long after, Avery walked into her room with the baby finally calmed down. He said, “Hey, Zachary’s not the only great heir out there. You’ve got plenty of options.”

“Trust me, your brother will make sure you end up with someone way better,” Avery promised.

Seeing Hathaway still quiet, Avery said, “If you really like him, don’t worry about Vivian. Go chase after your true love. Whatever she says, just let it go in one ear and out the other. It won’t bother us.”

Hathaway acted like she hadn’t heard a thing Avery said.

She kept up her routine, burying herself in work and forcing herself not to think about anything else. She knew Jeremiah was never hers, so she didn’t let herself dream about him. She just kept her head down and got through each day, staying true to herself.

The weather was getting colder.

One day, little Sophie caught a cold.

The pediatrician who was supposed to make a house call couldn’t find his way around, so Hathaway had to drive through a maze of unfamiliar streets just to pick him up herself.

Once the doctor arrived, he examined Sophie, gave her some medicine, and started a nebulizer treatment for her.

On her way to the hospital to pick up the medicine, Hathaway bumped into Melanie again.

Melanie was acting all high and mighty, just like always.

She was about to throw Jessica’s success in Hathaway’s face, but Hathaway didn’t even spare her a glance. She just kept walking.

The Whitmore family followed the doctor’s instructions to the letter, and in just a few days, Sophie was already getting better.
