Jessica smiled when she saw the message and quickly replied: [Sure, where to?]
Jeremiah: [Let’s decide when I pick you up.]

Their conversation was short, but Jessica knew she could always count on Jeremiah to have everything planned out. Elaine noticed Jessica’s knowing smile and instantly sensed something was up. She quietly leaned over to peek at Jessica’ s phone, and when she saw the messages, she squealed, “Jessica’s going on a date with Mr. Blackwood.”
Her shout immediately got everyone’s attention.
Melanie and Spencer Thorne got super excited the moment they heard Jessica was going out with Jeremiah.
Spencer ran a window and door business, but getting anywhere near the Blackwood Group was a pipe dream for him.
Now, all he could hope for was that his niece, Jessica, would marry into the Blackwood family, so maybe he could bask in a little reflected glory.
Melanie started fussing, eager for her daughter to put on something gorgeous for the date.
Sure, Jessica was already beautiful, but Melanie wanted her to shine so brightly that Jeremiah couldn’t take his eyes off her. “Honey, why don’t you wear that pale silver dress? It’s so elegant.”
“Yeah. Jessica, you look absolutely stunning in that dress,” Elaine chimed in.
Jessica thought the dress was perfect for the festive atmosphere and headed off to get changed.
When Jessica stepped out, the pale silver dress hugged her figure perfectly, making her look so elegant and serene. Everyone was totally stunned, their eyes glued to her.
Jessica’s aunt, Charlotte Thorne, couldn’t stop gushing. “No wonder Mr. Blackwood is into Jessica. Every man would wish to have such a beautiful wife.”
Jessica’s grandma, Elizabeth Kingsley, smiled and nodded. “She’s got the same grace I had back in my day.”
Preston asked, “Do you want to invite Mr. Blackwood inside for a while?”
Jessica smiled gently, “Maybe next time.”
Before long, Jessica got a message that Jeremiah had arrived. She rushed to the door, but before stepping outside, Jessica slowed her pace and walked out gracefully.
To Jessica’s surprise, Jeremiah was here alone. Lucas and Calvin had come along, too.
Jessica grinned as she saw them get out of the car, “So none of you are spending holidays at home?”
Lucas chuckled, “Celebrating with you totally counts. Jeremiah couldn’t deal with those old-timers at his place, so he decided to escape.”
As Lucas finished, he noticed two heads peeking out from behind the gate. “Are those your siblings?”
Jessica turned around and saw her brother, Felix Kingsley, and Elaine sneaking out, unable to contain their curiosity.
“That’s my brother, Felix Kingsley, and my cousin, Elaine Thorne,” Jessica called them over to introduce them.
Felix and Elaine looked super nervous the moment they saw Jeremiah and his friends.
Elaine, usually so quick-witted, was now blushing hard. Suddenly surrounded by so many outstanding guys, each one way hotter than any campus heartthrob she’d ever seen, she was totally flustered.
Jessica asked, “Can I bring them two along?”
Lucas grinned, “Sure, the more the merrier.”
Jeremiah and Calvin didn’t mind at all.
Jeremiah’s mood instantly lifted when he saw Jessica, looking way more relaxed than when he left home.
Elaine was a little overwhelmed, but she wasn’t about to say no to hanging out with them. After all, chances like this were super rare.
The Blackwood family was crazy powerful, and Jeremiah was basically a legend. Most folks could only dream of seeing him in person.
The rest of the Kingsley family and Spencer watched from the second-floor window, not daring to come down.
As he saw Elaine get into the stretch Lincoln, too, and head off, Spencer couldn’t hide his excitement and kept praising, “Mr.

Blackwood really is every bit as impressive as the rumors say.

“Even his friends are a cut above the rest. Jessica’s really making a splash. It feels like all of Bayridge’s finest young men showed up today.
“Melanie, Preston, you two really raised an incredible daughter. Jessica’s so outstanding. She was meant to have a husband like Jeremiah.”
Melanie couldn’t stop smiling.
Elizabeth chimed in, “Jessica has stood out ever since she was little.”
Jeremiah and his friends headed to a well-known coffeehouse in town, where Elaine got to taste pastries more delicate than anything she’d ever had in her life.
