Avery didn’t agree to meet with Jeremiah right away.

Jeremiah didn’t get upset. His face was unreadable as he said, “No matter the price, get me the first batch of the Whitmore Group’s new product. Secure priority access. Cost is not a concern.”

Jessica stood off to the side, her breath coming in short, sharp bursts, her heart pounding like thunder.

She called out, “Jeremiah?”

Jessica quietly slipped out of the room.
