The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 462

Chapter 462: A Ring

Lola spent the rest of the day with the Bennet women until they finally returned home to rest and change. She was informed that the family would be attending a party tonight, and they wanted her to come. So she simply went with the flow.

Once she’d rested and prepared for the occasion, Atlas called.

"I know," she said as she put on her earring, setting the phone on the table and placing it on speaker. "Yeah. The boutique we went to was a little far, but thankfully, there wasn’t much traffic except when we got close to home."

Lola picked up the phone and placed it against her ear. "Are we meeting at the venue?"

"Mhm," he hummed. "Penny will be with you... Do you want me to pick you up?"

"I’m not asking because I want you to pick me up."

"I still have to ask."

She chuckled. "Thankfully, you acclimated me to your siblings before I came here. I’m comfortable having them around."

"I see."

"See you later, then?"

"Mhm. I’ll see you later."

She ended the call and stared at her phone, pouting lightly even as her lips curved upward.

"What a small world," she whispered, setting her phone down and turning toward the full-body mirror. Her smile softened as she thought of her day.

It had been chaotic, but the kind of chaos she preferred. The kind of chaos that made her feel loved.

And today, she felt like her relationship with the Bennet women had deepened—stronger than anything she’d ever had with her own family.

"Small world, indeed," she whispered. "Who would’ve thought?"

Who would’ve thought the children she used to see as a teen would become part of her life?

Who would’ve thought she’d grow close to Kiara, once the School Belle in the Star Section?

Who would’ve thought that she would end up with the man who used to be her greatest crush... and even have a child with him?

Who would’ve thought that Penny, Slater, and the entire Bennet family would one day look at her and call her sister... or daughter?

Had she known... she would never have left Anteca.

But life had its twists and turns.

All she could do now was be grateful she reached this point. A point in her life at which she felt liberated, loved, and respected.

Slowly, Lola lifted her eyes and met her reflection. She approached the mirror closer, studying herself.

Her cheeks were tinged pink, pleased by her own reflection in the beautiful white dress Atlas told her to wear. She touched her neatly tied hair, a few straight strands framing her face.

"I’m..." she murmured, studying her own reflection as if seeing this woman for the first time. Her beautiful eyes shimmered naturally, the air around her glowing, her face clear and bright.

Even after Lola changed her life and cared for her appearance, there had always been something about her. She had this aura that dimmed her glow. A heaviness that followed her.

But now... she looked radiant.

Lola touched her cheek and smiled, nodding to herself.

"I’m pretty," she whispered, almost laughing at her own compliment. But she repeated it anyway, "You are beautiful, Lola."

She slowly lowered her hand, staring a moment longer before her eyes softened.

It had been so long since she looked in the mirror and genuinely admired herself. So long since she appreciated not just herself but her existence.

Perhaps it was the environment she’d always been trapped in. But now, she found herself liking herself more and more.

At first, she fell in love with the life where Atlas and the twins were. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"Nope," Kiara countered, brows raised. "She’s gonna be Mint’s death for sure."

Lola reached the group with a bright smile, her eyes darting between them. "Did I make you guys wait?"

"No, not really," Penny shook her head.

"I see." Lola sighed in relief. "Well, I was thinking... should I drive us to the venue? Penny’s been driving all day, so maybe I should—"

"No need!" the three suddenly said in unison.

"Huh?" Lola blinked, noticing the strange panic in their eyes. "Why are you guys panicking? It’s not like I don’t know how to drive. You can trust me with your lives."

"Hehe. Sis, let me drive. Actually, my fake sister will drive. Right, Second Sister?" Penny grabbed Lola’s arm and shot Kiara a look.

Kiara smiled stiffly and nodded. "Yep!"

"We’ll be in the front," Nina chimed in gently. "You and Penny can relax in the back."

"Oh." Lola nodded slowly. "You guys sure?"

"Yes!"

Their loud answer made her flinch, but she let it go. With that, the ladies headed to the venue.

Unbeknownst to Lola, the Bennet family might be close, but they were never this friendly to others. And that they never attended an event as a whole.

They only attended events together under two circumstances:

A funeral.

Or a wedding.
