The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 561

Chapter 561: It’s Been A While, Young Master.

Just how unlucky could one be?

That was the question swirling in Haji’s group as they took in the situation they had found themselves in. First, they were stuck underground far longer than expected, and now, when they finally emerged, they were already ambushed.

"Fuck—" Haji breathed out, only for something hard to strike the back of his head, instantly knocking him unconscious.

"Ugh..."

Haji’s groan echoed in the utter darkness he woke up to. The rough fabric brushing against his face made him huff instinctively.

When he tried to move, as expected, his hands and feet were bound.

Not only were his eyes blindfolded, but there was also a cloth sack over his head.

"Damn," he muttered, wincing as his nape throbbed from the earlier assault. "Anybody there?!"

His voice echoed, making him think that wherever he’d been taken, he was probably alone. All he could hope was that the rest weren’t dead yet.

Otherwise, Lola would kill him.

Haji knew that as if it were a fact.

If everyone else on his team had died, he would follow them. She’d personally send him to reunite with them for sure.

"Fuck—!"

"Stop shouting, will you?"

His breath hitched as Scarlet’s irritated voice cut through his yelling.

"Girl?" he called out, making her frown. "You’re alive?"

She huffed faintly. "Thankfully, all of us are."

"Huh?"

Despite the sack over his head, Haji turned left and right, as if that would somehow let him see.

Meanwhile, Scarlet and the others simply stared at him from the side. Unlike him, the other four—including Scarlet and Chuck—were confined inside a large cage.

Yes, a cage large enough to hold several humans.

"You guys okay?" Haji asked. "Anyone injured?"

"All our devices were taken, including our weapons. Aside from that, luckily, no one’s hurt... yet," Scarlet said, gripping the bars as she glanced around what looked like an empty hall. It was smaller than a function hall, yet larger than a normal room.

The space was built with old bricks, more or less like a chamber inside a castle. Aside from the divan positioned at the center, there was nothing else around. For such a large room, it felt unnervingly empty.

"Wait." Haji knitted his brows, angling his head toward her voice. "You guys aren’t tied?"

"No," she hummed. "We’re perfectly free... to roam this cage."

"Cage?"

As soon as he repeated the word, Chuck rattled the bars with all his might. "Damn it! Why the hell do they even have a cage this big?!"

The other two members—Tyga, their tech guy, and Kean, their medic—shot Chuck sharp looks. They were already unhappy with his recklessness, and more than that, they blamed him for landing them in this situation.

Haji didn’t respond. With the sack over his head, Scarlet couldn’t see the expression on his face.

"It’s fine if you don’t know," she continued. "But we need to figure out how to get out. There’s a trick window over there, but it’s too high. A ladder alone won’t cut it."

She narrowed her eyes toward the window. It was foggy, not made of clear glass. From what she could tell, the sky outside suggested they were on an upper ground floor.

"But what I’m really curious about is..." She trailed off, looking back at Haji. "Why are you out there instead of in here with us?"

At her words, everyone in the cage turned toward him. They’d all been wondering the same thing.

When Haji was knocked out, they’d been taken down as well. When they woke up, they were already caged together, only to find Haji placed in the center of the room, bound to a chair.

Unlike them.

"That is because, one way or another, I recognized his parentage."

Suddenly, a gentle voice echoed through the hall.

Everyone snapped their heads toward the sound, only to see a middle-aged man in a long black coat walking in.

Jarvis.

He strode inside without sparing the caged group a glance, stopping in front of Haji before pulling the sack off his head.

As soon as Haji’s vision cleared, he looked up and, as expected, recognized the face instantly.

"Jarvis," Haji muttered under his breath as the corners of the man’s lips curved upward.

"It’s been a while," Jarvis said with a small nod. "Young Master."
