The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 633

Chapter 633: The Governor’s Escape... (?)

BANG!

"Ahh!" Gehran screamed as a bullet struck the stair railing and ricocheted into the wall beside him. He nearly tumbled down the steps, had it not been for Jarvis gripping the back of his clothes.

Another gunshot rang out. From a few floors below, a mercenary looked up. "Governor! The residents have breached the building!"

"Those filthy rats...!" the governor fumed, despite the fear crawling up his spine. "They dared—"

"Governor, this way!"

Without waiting for an answer, the mercenary yanked Gehran backward, pulling him toward another route.

With the residents breaking through their defenses, an entire unit of mercenaries had formed around the governor. There were seven of them now—including Jarvis and the young advisor—taking a different route to escape the building.

The stairs were impossible, and the elevator was far too risky.

They took another emergency exit without hesitation. Aside from the residents, Lola would inevitably make her way inside to take their heads and end this entirely. Jarvis could not allow that.

Over his dead body.

One of the mercenaries kicked the door open. As it flew wide, two mercenaries entered first, followed by Gehran, the young lackey, and Jarvis. But just as they stepped inside, a voice roared from behind them.

"Gehran!!!"

They halted instinctively and looked back.

There, they saw locals standing in the hallway that connected the rooms. Their hair was disheveled, their filthy clothes soaked in fresh blood. Moments later, more people emerged from the stairwell. This time, their numbers weren’t just a handful, but over a dozen.

"Governor, we’ll hold them off!" the mercenaries still outside shouted to Jarvis.

Jarvis nodded. Without ceremony, he slammed the door shut and turned to face the governor.

At the same time, two mercenaries inside positioned themselves near the open window.

"Governor! Sir Jarvis! This side hasn’t been noticed yet!" one of them shouted urgently. "Our men are already downstairs, taking down anyone who tries to come this way!"

Despite that, concern still colored their voices.

This route was clear for now. But in a conflict like this, that could change at any moment.

Gehran stared at the wide window, his body immediately refusing to move. Sensing this, Jarvis grabbed his plump shoulder and dragged him closer.

"Kyah!" Gehran squealed as his head poked out the window, hands clamping onto the railing. His vision swam, zooming in and out as his heart leapt into his throat at the sheer height he would need to descend.

"No, no—no!" he scrambled backward, trying to crawl away.

But a burst of gunfire erupted behind them, right outside the room. His movements froze as Jarvis tightened his grip on the governor’s sleeve.

"Governor," Jarvis growled, stepping beside him, his fingers creasing the fabric. "We have to leave. This is the only way out of this building."

"Governor, our security’s been breached—the people are revolting!" the young lackey cried, on the verge of tears. "If they get their hands on you, they’ll kill you!"

"There is no other way," Jarvis said through clenched teeth, eyes flashing with malice. "Unless you want those filthy rats to get their hands on you."

Sweat beaded on Gehran’s forehead, soaking his armpits. His complexion was deathly pale, his stomach twisting violently as nausea rose. His body trembled uncontrollably, as if his blood sugar had dropped.

"Governor!" one mercenary called from outside, already standing on the adjacent fire escape. "Let’s go!"

Gehran gulped and glanced at the window. Reluctantly, he moved closer, the wind blowing away streams of sweat pouring from his face.

He continued downward, only to stop when the descent stalled. Looking down, he understood their current dilemma.

Gehran was refusing to jump.

The ladder didn’t reach the ground, and one had to leap.

"Governor, you have to jump!" the mercenary shouted from below, already standing beside the pickup truck positioned to catch them.

Gehran shook his head violently. "No! What if I break my arm?!"

Frustration radiated from everyone waiting.

"How could I—" As Gehran continued whining, his grip slipped.

Before he realized it, he was falling.

"Ahh—ack!"

The pickup truck rocked violently as his body slammed onto it, the front end bouncing.

"Ouch... ouch..." Gehran groaned, clutching his back.

The others wasted no time. The remaining mercenaries jumped down cleanly, followed by the young lackey and Jarvis. They piled into the truck, two mercenaries taking the back with the governor.

The engine roared.

And just like that, the truck sped away from the disaster they had barely escaped.
