The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 735

Chapter 735: Personal

Lola closed her eyes and massaged her brows. When she reopened them, her gaze fell on Pika, who was seated in the corner of the room with Tyga. Pika looked shaken, but he said he was fine and was able to recount what had happened.

As it turned out, his former boss already knew that Pika had discovered the truth. But instead of attacking him, the old man had asked him to take a walk outside, leading him to their usual spot.

The place where Pika would usually sit, and his boss would listen.

Now, that spot was tainted by the latter’s death.

A shallow breath escaped Lola as she quietly excused herself from the room to give Pika some breathing space. As soon as she stepped outside, Atlas and Baby were already there. Izu and Florida were also present, perking up the moment they saw her.

"He’s just shocked," Lola said, knowing they were waiting for an update. "But he said he’s fine."

Izu and Florida let out deep breaths, glancing at the door with lingering concern. Not that they believed this would completely traumatize Pika, especially since he had been on the Ravah mission with them. Compared to that, this was just one incident.

Then again... this person had been close to him.

"Izu, stay here," Lola ordered. "I don’t think Pika wants it, but I’m sure he’ll appreciate some moral support."

"Yes, Madam," Izu replied, lowering his head without question.

"Florida, accompany Izu. Tyga will take over once he’s assured that Pika is truly fine," she added. Florida immediately agreed.

Then Lola turned to Atlas. "Let’s go."

Atlas nodded silently, and the two of them walked away. Baby glanced at Lola and Atlas, then at Florida and Izu.

He had a choice.

And he chose to stay.

"Damn it!" Izu hissed as soon as Lola and Atlas disappeared, his hands clenching into tight fists. "How could these guys...?"

He ground his teeth, thoughts spiraling back to the interrogations earlier. Before Pika’s incident, they had been questioning those who were seized. Each of them had different reasons, and they all spoke quickly once Atlas took over and sat across from them.

Atlas hadn’t even needed to hurt them.

All he had to ask was, "Why?"

And they talked.

Some were angry and condescending. Others were apologetic and remorseful. A few remained withdrawn or delusional.

But one thing was clear: there were only a handful of reasons they had turned their backs on the Order. It was either the unfairness and discrimination of the Circles, or the brutal intensity of the competition. More often than not, it was those reasons that pushed them into cheating and seeking help from outside the Order.

Some had even joined the Order with the sole purpose of poisoning minds, targeting the foolish or the vulnerable, and manipulating them.

Still...

"The fierceness and harshness of our environment were necessary," Izu breathed out through clenched teeth, visibly overwhelmed as this became painfully personal. "If the Order softened just to cater to everyone, we’d pay a heavy price."

Bitterness flickered in his eyes. "Did they forget what happened back then?"

Back when the heirs of the Zorken Family clashed, the Order—and everyone under it—had been left vulnerable. They had seen the consequences before. Many had paid the price simply because someone couldn’t respect a dying wish.

Or rather, because most of them were restricted from doing more than they should have—because the Council was watching, and because the other families were watching. They were bound.

For years, he and his team had been discriminated against and mocked as the weakest team in the Order, Florida thought with a heavy sigh. Yet... they never turned their backs on it.
