The Billionaire Twins Need A New Mommy! novel Chapter 769

Chapter 769: Things Will Be Different Soon

The priest clenched his teeth as he tried to pry Lola’s arm from around his neck, but to no avail. She refused to let him go, making him regret paralyzing only her legs.

"Lo—" He pushed himself up again, scraping together every ounce of strength he had. When he managed to get to his feet, he drove himself backward, slamming his back hard against one of the pillars.

"Ugh—" Lola winced the moment her back collided with the stone, her grip loosening slightly. "Ugh... no."

She couldn’t let him go.

If she was going to end him, now was the time.

Before he could take advantage of her faltering hold, she tightened her arm around his neck again. He responded by slamming her against the pillar once more. Still, she refused to release him. She knew that if she did, she would never get another chance like this.

Unfortunately, on the second impact, he managed to slip a hand between his neck and her arm.

"Let—let go!" he hissed through gritted teeth. "Lola, let go!"

Ignoring the burning pain in her back, she squeezed harder. Maybe it was adrenaline. Maybe he was just weaker than she expected. Either way, she wasn’t going to let this madness continue.

"Four lifetimes..." she whispered, grinding her teeth. "...you are the most horrible person I’ve ever known."

She had once thought no one could take Loren’s crown.

Lola might have claimed she had moved on from her past. But deep in her heart, she would never forgive—or forget—what Loren Young had done to her. What made it worse was that, beneath all that hatred, there had once been love. She hated Loren because she had loved her just as fiercely.

It was a complicated emotion she wished she could erase.

But this man... he was the root of everything.

If what he said was true, then Lola had once lived a normal life.

She had loving parents—something she never truly had. Even if those parents later became part of her misery in other lifetimes, they had once been hers.

If he were telling the truth, then he was the one who took that away. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Or rather... he stole her entire normal life.

"I’m... going to end you," she breathed, unblinking as she tightened her grip. Her heart felt ready to burst from rage. "This time... you’re going straight to hell. I’ll make sure of it."

The man whimpered as he struggled to free himself. Even when he slammed his back against the pillar again, her hold didn’t loosen. If anything, she seemed even more relentless.

"You—" he grunted, finally abandoning her arm as his trembling hand shoved into the pocket of his robe. "I... didn’t want to do this, but—"

When his hand emerged, a syringe was already clutched between his fingers. He yanked off the cap and, without hesitation, drove the needle into her arm.

Lola didn’t notice at first. She didn’t even feel it.

The only reason she realized what he had done was when she saw the syringe protruding from her skin.

"You." Her eyes widened, pupils constricting. "What did you—"

Her arm suddenly weakened.

He tore her arms away from his neck and shoved her down.

If someone kicked a gun toward her, she would grab it and put a bullet between his brows without hesitation.

"After all that crap you said... what did you expect from me?" she laughed bitterly. "That I’d just accept it? Hahaha! I can’t believe the mastermind behind all this is so pathetic. I told you—kill me now. Otherwise, you’ll have to keep me paralyzed for the rest of my life. Maybe sew my mouth shut too."

Bitterness darkened his youthful face. His fingers curled into fists against the floor. He drew in a long breath, closed his eyes, then reopened them.

"Don’t worry," he said. "Things will be different soon."

She scoffed in response.

"I told you I made a promise," he continued. "That I would give everything in this lifetime. And no matter the hiccups, I won’t let the tragedy that befell us happen again."

He swallowed hard as he pushed himself up, gazing down at her.

"And Atlas Bennet will fix all of this for me."

"What?"

"Lola, your death is what triggered Atlas Bennet’s madness," he said. "Until he does what he must do, you’ll be kept alive."

This time, her expression went blank. "What did you... ask him to do?"

He pressed his lips into a thin line, clearly disliking the answer he was withholding.

"You’ll find out."
