Chapter 141

She’s quiet for a second and then, “What if you move in me?”

Stare at her before laughter bubbles out of my mouth.

“I’m serious,” she says, frowning.

“I love you, Babe, but no thanks,” I say, still laughing.

I remember our campus days and I don’t want a repeat of that ever again. There is something infinitely wrong about having to hear your best friend’s moans from her room. The things I heard from her room during her sexcapades still make me blush.

It got so bad that I had to set some ground rules: that no one would bring boys back to our shared apartment.

“I’m not that bad,” she protests with a pout. “You act like you were any better.”

I can’t help giggling. “I’m not saying I was better. All I’m saying is, hearing you moan and scream ‘ram me harder with your big, hard dick‘ is not something I ever want to sign up for.”

Her eyes widen. “It was one time–just one time!”

“Oh yeah? Because my ears are still in therapy.” I clutch my chest dramatically. “I swear, the neighbors probably thought someone was filming Fifty Shades of Captain Fuck–Me next door.”

She gasps, flinging a pillow at me. “Shut up!”

“Right there, don’t stop… you feel so good,” I say in the most dramatic imitation of her voice I can manage, tears of laughter rolling down my cheeks. “Shit, Captain, I’m gonna cum so hard for you!”

“Fuck. That’s something I did not need to hear.”

Everything stops. If a pin dropped right now, it’d probably file a noise complaint.

We both whip our heads toward the doorway so fast it’s a miracle we don’t sprain something.

Noah stands there, one hand still on the door, wearing the universal look of a man who’s just walked straight into

trauma.

Behind him, two bodyguards are barely holding it together, their shoulders shaking as they try not to burst out laughing.

He’s in a black suit, sleeves rolled up, tie nowhere in sight, the picture of exhausted authority. His jaw clenches like he’s recalculating every decision that led him to this exact moment.

For a solid three seconds, no one says a word.

Then Lilly breaks it. “Kill me now.”

Her face goes scarlet and I swear I’ve never seen her blush before in my entire life.

“Make that both of us,” I mutter, covering my face with my hands.

She whirls on me, wide–eyed and mortified. “This is all your fault!” she hisses. “My cousin is never going to look at me the same way again! You’ve ruined my image forever!”

“Stop talking!” she whisper–yells, smacking my arm. “Maybe if I close my eyes, he’ll disappear.”

She does so, then slowly opens her eyes. “Oh my God, Noah’s still standing there! I’m going to die of shame.”

We both glance at Noah again. He hasn’t moved an inch. He’s just blinking slowly, like he’s mentally uninstalling the last thirty seconds.

Finally, Lilly groans into her hands. “I’m totally gonna get you back for this, Sierra.”

Instead of responding, I poke my tongue out at her because clearly, I handle embarrassment with grace and maturity.

Noah finally exhales, slow and deliberate. Then, in the driest tone imaginable, he mutters, “Next time, maybe close the door before you decide to traumatize your audience.”

He shuts the door, but not before we hear the bodyguards losing it.

And Lilly? She’s already plotting my murder.
