Chapter 192
“You tried to kidnap her,” I murmur. “Tried to take her, why?”
My voice stays calm, too calm for the storm I feel inside.
He looks at me, as if challenging me. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
I stop behind him and lean down close to his ear. “Lie again, and you’ll regret it.”
I walk to the metal table against the wall and run my hand over the tools laid out… A hammer. A set of pliers. A single, sharp knife that gleams under the hanging bulb.
I pick up the knife and turn it between my fingers. “Who sent you?”
He swallows loudly but doesn’t answer.
I tilt my head, studying him. “You know, you are really trying my patience.”
“And trust me, you don’t want to see what he does when he gets impatient,” Lilly adds, crossing her legs and leaning back, unbothered.
“I won’t ask again.”
“I d–don’t know what you’re talking…”
I cut him off. “You know exactly what I’m talking about.”
His breath stutters. His eyes dart to the knife in my hand.
“One last time,” I say. “Who paid you to kidnap Sierra Meyers?”
His lips clamp shut.
Wrong choice.
I drive the knife into his hand. His screams fill the warehouse, echoing off the wall, while his whole body trembles
violently.
“That was a warning,” I say softly.
I take the hammer next.
His eyes widen, terror flooding them. “I really don’t know what…‘
He doesn’t get to finish his sentence because I bring the hammer down on the knife still in his hand, before pulling out the knife and bringing the hammer down on his hand.
The scream that follows rattles through the warehouse walls..
Lilly doesn’t flinch, and neither do I.
Blood drips onto the concrete, pooling at his heel. He’s shaking so hard the chair rattles.
“You can walk out of here alive,” I say, “But if you make me ask again, you won’t walk out of here at all.”
He’s crying now, but I don’t feel pity, not even for a second.
“Is–swear you’ve got the wrong person.” He screams. “This is fucking illegal!”

That just makes me snap. I drive the knife into his side, watching as he convulses from the pain.
The next couple of minutes I alternate between the available tools.
“Noah,” Lilly calls, pulling me out of the haze. “If you continue, there will be nothing of him left.”
I stare at him. Both of his hands and kneecaps are shattered, some of his teeth are missing, his chest is an artwork of cuts, and his thighs and sides are bleeding from multiple stab wounds.
“Are you ready to talk?” I ask, stepping back.
He nods.
