The Billionaire’s Fight For Redemption (Noah and Sierra) novel Chapter 406

“I was not dying.”

He shrugs unapologetically. “You were in danger of bleeding out. I wasn’t going to risk it.”

I roll my eyes just as the nurse steps in, gently examining my shoulder and thighs.

“Good thing is that your wounds aren’t deep and didn’t hit anything to worry about,” she says after a moment. “I’m going to pull out the glass, then we’ll clean both of them before wrapping them up to prevent infection.”

Relief visibly washes over Noah, his shoulders relaxing slightly for the first time since he got to me.

“I told you,” I mutter.

He doesn’t respond, but I catch the way his jaw tightens, like he’s still processing everything that could have gone wrong.

Now that I was no longer in fight or flight mode, I could feel the pain coursing through my thighs and shoulders.

Noah stands there the entire time the nurse cleans and dresses the wound, his eyes never leaving me, sharp and watchful, like he’s making sure nothing else happens.

When she finishes, she gives me a small smile. “Remember to keep the wound dry and I’ll see you in a couple of days for a change in dressing.”

“Thank you,” I say.

Noah steps closer immediately, helping me down from the bed as if I’m still fragile.

We start heading out, but I pause. “Wait, the bill?”

“It’s taken care of,” he says without hesitation.

I frown. “Noah, I don’t want you taking care of things for me. I can do them by myself.”

“I know, but we own shares here, so there is nothing to pay,” he cuts in calmly.

That shuts me up pretty quickly. We leave the hospital, and once again, he helps me into the car before getting in himself.

“Where are we going?” I ask as he starts the engine.

“Home,” he says simply.

I nod, accepting it, because honestly, I’m starting to crash and what I really want right now is to slide into bed and sleep.

“How did you even know I was in trouble?” I ask, remembering I was to ask him.

“I have surveillance on your house.”

For a second, I just stare at him, shock running through me, before I finally snap out of it.

“What?” I snap, my voice rising sharply.

He doesn’t flinch, doesn’t even spare me a glance. He just focuses on the road, his jaw tight.

“Why would you do that?” I demand. “How could you do that without telling me?”
