The Billionaire’s Fight For Redemption (Noah and Sierra) novel Chapter 442

For a moment, I can’t move. My entire body locks up as I stare at Brook sitting casually in the living room with a book in her hands like she hasn’t spent months turning my life into a nightmare I can barely survive. Like she didn’t almost kill me. Like she didn’t kidnap my daughter.

My heart starts pounding so hard it hurts, and I can hear its sound ringing in my fucking ears.

I don’t need to look at Lilly and Juliette to know they’re just as shocked as I am. I expected a lot of things when we came here. Maybe another clue. Maybe the person who had been texting me. Maybe some hidden information about Val… But never this. I never for one second expected to find Brook here, sitting like all is right in her pathetic little world.

A choked sound suddenly leaves Lilly and Brook’s head snaps up instantly. At first, confusion flashes across her face like she isn’t sure she’s really seeing us, but then recognition settles in and her eyes widen in shock.

She shoots to her feet immediately, probably to run or scream or maybe to call someone to help her, but I don’t give her that chance. Before she can do anything, something inside me snaps, and I move before I can even think.

One second she’s standing and the next, I’m slamming into her with a force so violent we both crash onto the floor.

Brook screams in shock, but I don’t even hear it properly because all I can see is pure red. My hands shake violently as I yank the pepper spray from my pocket and spray it directly into her eyes.

Brook shrieks, clawing at her face as she curses, “You fucking bitch!”

I don’t stop. Months of pain explode out of me all at once. Every sleepless night, every breakdown, every second spent wondering where my daughter is and every moment of grief and helplessness and rage all crash through me so hard I can barely breathe around it.

I grab Brook by the hair so violently she screams again.

“You bitch!” I screech at her, then slap her again and again; the sound echoes through the room but it still doesn’t feel like enough.

Brook tries shoving me off her, but I straddle her harder and start raining blows onto her face with everything inside me.

“Do you have any idea what you did to me?!” I scream through tears and fury. “Do you have any idea how much I suffered because of you?!”

Brook curses beneath me, trying to claw at my arms.

“It’s because of you that I lost my baby!” I scream again, my voice cracking painfully. “Because of you I haven’t slept! Because of you, I feel like I'm missing a half of my soul.”

“Get this crazy bitch off me!” Brook screams, but I don’t listen; instead, I grab her head and slam it against the floor hard enough to make her groan.

“Where is my baby?!” I scream at her. “Where is she?!”

Brook only spits blood and curses at me again and that makes something inside me snap even harder. I pull my fist back again ready to strike again, but suddenly strong hands grab me under my arms and yank me backward.

“Fuck you!” I scream immediately, kicking violently. “Let me go!”

“Breathe, baby.”

I should break his fucking jaw for calling me that, but the softness in his voice cuts through the rage just enough for me to focus on him.

He guides me through it slowly until finally my breathing starts evening out little by little. My chest still heaves violently, but eventually the blind fury eases enough for me to think again.

Noah studies me carefully. “You calm now?”

I take one deep breath before nodding stiffly, “Yes.”

“Good,” he murmurs. “Now let’s get answers.”

When I turn back around, Brook is being held tightly between two of Noah’s men while she struggles violently against them.

Both her eyes are already swelling purple, her nose is bleeding badly and her lip is split open.

A small vicious part of me feels deeply satisfied, because honestly, if I had the chance she wouldn’t walk out of here alive. The only reason why I’m not sending her straight to hell where she deserves to be, is because I need information on Val.
