The Billionaire's Heir I Never Knew Was Mine novel Chapter 186

Chapter 186: Tell Him The Truth

Sienna took a slow breath, gathering the courage she had been searching for all day.

"There’s something I want to tell you," she said softly. "About my past..."

Tension and worry filled Zachary’s eyes as he asked, "What is it?"

"Zach, this might surprise you once you hear it..." Sienna began, holding his gaze.

The tension in her chest was so overwhelming that it felt as though something heavy were pressing against her, making her completely nervous.

Even so, she forced herself to continue.

"In the past, my father became seriously ill and needed major surgery. We had no money left, and there wasn’t any property we could sell to pay for it. So I did something to help him. I signed an agreement to earn money quickly..."

She paused to take a deep breath and tightened her grip on his hand when she noticed that he showed no reaction.

’Is he angry? Why doesn’t he look surprised or frightened by what I’m trying to tell him?’ she wondered, trying to read his expression.

Before she could continue, Zachary finally spoke.

"What did you do?"

"I lent my womb and gave my eggs to someone else... to carry their child," she answered carefully.

A slight frown appeared on Zachary’s face.

Noticing it, Sienna hurried to explain.

"I mean, I didn’t get pregnant the normal way. You know... like a husband and wife?" She shook her head quickly. "No, definitely not. They took out my eggs, fertilized them with sperm, and once successful, they transferred the embryo into my womb, and I carried the baby for nine months."

"You mean you became a surrogate?"

"Yes, I was a surrogate. A traditional surrogacy." Seeing his expression relax, she felt a little relieved. "After I gave birth, they took the baby boy, and that was the end of it. Since then, I’ve never known anything about the child or my client."

Having finally told him the truth, Sienna felt a weight lift from her heart. She had never wanted him to hear this from anyone else. She wanted the truth to come directly from her.

Unfortunately, her relief lasted only a few seconds.

Once again, Zachary didn’t react. He didn’t look disappointed, nor did he seem shocked. He simply stared at her with a calm, unreadable expression, as though he had fallen into a trance.

’Congratulations, Sienna. You shocked your husband so badly that he completely froze,’ she complained silently.

She could have accepted it if he had been disappointed or even angry. What she couldn’t bear was his silence.

After several long moments had passed, she could no longer wait.

"I’m sorry, Zach. I should have told you this before we registered our marriage." She took a slow, deep breath before continuing. "Now I feel like I’ve deceived you. I..."

She couldn’t finish her sentence because Zachary suddenly pulled her into a firm embrace, carefully avoiding her injured hand.

"Z-Zach..." she murmured as she tried to pull back slightly so she could see his face.

Instead, he held her closer. Resting his chin on her shoulder, he gently kissed the side of her neck, making her body tense. Even so, she didn’t resist. She didn’t interrupt him or ask any questions. She simply waited for him to speak.

"Sienna, my wife... please don’t apologize," he whispered gently. "I’m not angry with you. In fact, I’m grateful."

Before she could make sense of it, she faintly heard Zachary calling her.

"Sienna? Did you hear what I said?"

She blinked several times and realized he was sitting very close to her. Then he leaned in a little more, his expression filled with concern.

"You heard me, didn’t you?" he asked gently. "I’m your client... and Skylar is our son."

"Are you really my client?" Sienna asked again, needing to be absolutely certain that she hadn’t imagined it.

Zachary nodded softly. A gentle smile spread across his lips, radiating happiness, relief, and gratitude.

After receiving his confirmation, Sienna felt warmth spread through her heart. Even so, it was still difficult to believe. The man sitting in front of her wasn’t only her former client. He was also her husband.

"Z-Zach... please pinch me." Her voice trembled as tears filled her eyes. "I want to know that I’m not dreaming. I want to know that what you’re saying isn’t just my imagination."

Instead of pinching her, Zachary leaned forward and kissed her.

His kiss was deep and full of emotion, and Sienna instinctively returned it with the same intensity. When the kiss finally ended, he slowly pulled away. They were both slightly breathless, their faces still only inches apart as a warm smile lingered on his lips.

"What do you think?" he asked softly. "Does this feel real now?"

Sienna couldn’t find the words to answer.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she cried with overwhelming happiness. At last, she had found her son, and God had been so kind to her. Not only had He allowed her to reunite with her child, but He had also brought her to the child’s father, who was now the man she loved most.
