The Billionaire's Insignificant Wife novel Chapter 136

Happened Again

On the other side of the mansion, Daniel climbed the stairs with hurried steps.

His heart hammered in his chest. Anger still simmered inside him.

But there was also pain.

Hearing Junior reject his unborn sibling, a sibling not yet even real, with such vehemence.

Junior had even called Alina a crazy woman.

Daniel reached the corridor leading to Alina’s room. The guards stood at their post. They opened the door without being asked.

Daniel entered.

The room was brighter than usual. The bathroom light was on.

Daniel heard the sound of running water, and then the gentle voice of a servant.

“Ma’am, please tilt your head back slightly. I’ll rinse your hair.”

Daniel walked closer. He stood in the bathroom doorway.

He saw Alina sitting in a small chair. A servant was rinsing her wet, shampoo-filled hair.

Alina wore only a thin bathrobe. Her long hair hung wet and heavy.

Her face was still pale. Her eyes still swollen. But at least she had been washed and looked cleaner than before.

“Get out,” Daniel said to the servant.

The servant startled. She hurriedly rinsed the remaining shampoo from Alina’s hair as quickly as she could.

“Sir, I’m not finished-”

“Get out. Now. I’ll continue.”

The servant dared not argue. She carefully set down the shower head and left quickly.

Closing the bathroom door behind her.

Leaving Daniel and Alina alone.

Daniel picked up a small towel. He dried Alina’s hair with slow, careful movements.

Then he took a comb from the shelf. He began to work through Alina’s long, tangled hair.

Alina said nothing. She did not move. Did not resist.

She only sat there, frozen like a statue.

“Junior might come around eventually,” Daniel said suddenly. His voice was quiet. “If you really are pregnant. Not just a false report.”

Alina turned her head slightly when Junior’s name was mentioned.

Her vacant eyes suddenly focused. She looked at Daniel through the mirror.

Daniel smiled bitterly at that reaction.

So Alina still cared deeply about Junior even in a state like this.

She reacted immediately the moment the child’s name was spoken.

Alina and Daniel held each other’s gaze in the mirror for a few seconds, then Daniel spoke again in a deeper tone.

“It’s true. Junior might be able to be more mature about things and begin to accept you again, if you truly give him a sibling. What if we make that a reality soon?”

Alina furrowed her brow. She had not fully grasped what Daniel meant. But before her mind could process it, Daniel pulled her to her feet.

His lips came down hard on hers.

Rough. Forceful. Possessive. Filled with desire.

Alina panicked immediately. The trauma from the day before struck with brutal force.

She pushed against Daniel’s chest with both hands. Trying to break free.

“No! Don’t! Please-”

Daniel seized both of Alina’s wrists. He held them firmly.

“Listen to me,” he said in a low voice at Alina’s ear. “Do you want to see Junior again? Do you want him to accept you?”

Alina stopped struggling. She looked at Daniel with tear-filled eyes.

“I can arrange a meeting. I can make Junior stop being afraid of you. But with one condition.” Daniel held her gaze sharply. “You don’t refuse me. Tonight. And the nights that follow until you are truly pregnant.”

Alina shook her head weakly. “No… please…”

“Or,” Daniel continued in a harder tone. “I will make certain you never see Junior at all. Not once. Not even if he asks for you. I will make sure the two of you never meet again. Ever.”

That threat was like a knife through Alina’s heart.

Junior.

She would never be able to see Junior again.

Never hold him. Never speak to him. Never hear his voice.

Tears streamed in torrents down Alina’s cheeks.

“Please don’t,” she whispered in desperation. “Don’t separate me from Junior. Please-”

“Then don’t refuse me.”

Daniel lifted Alina by force. He carried her out of the bathroom to the bed.

Alina wept. She trembled. But she did not resist again.

Because that threat was more terrifying than any physical pain.
