Chapter 259-6m Clean Up His Own Mese
Chapter 259: He Can Clean Up His Own Mess
Maya understood exactly what Damien meant.
Brandy had made her own choices, and whatever happened between her and Bill Franklin after this was,
by all accounts, a matter between the two of them.
From a logical standpoint, Damien wasn’t wrong.
Yet the more Maya thought about it, the more uneasy she became.

the wrong person,” Damien answered almost immediately. “She knew from the very beginning that meone like Nicholas Ashcroft was completely out of her league.”
The words had barely left his mouth when he realized what he had just implied.
Maya looked up at him.
“So did I.”
Damien froze.

Regret immediately flashed across Damien’s face.
That’s different,” he said firmly. “You’re different, Maya. Don’t ever compare yourself to her”
Maya tilted her head slightly.
“How is she different?”
Damien’s jaw tightened.
“She sells her body for a living. She’ll open her legs for anyone willing to pay.”
His voice turned noticeably colder.
“And before you defend her… no. She wasn’t forced into it because life was hard. She chose that life because she wanted easy money.”
Maya held his eyes for a long moment before letting out a soft, resigned sigh.
“I’m not trying to defend her or argue with you, Damien,” she said gently. “And i’m not trying to justify what she did either. I’m just… trying to understand why she did it.”
Damien rubbed the bridge of his nose, closing his eyes as he tried to ease the tension building inside him.
When he opened them again, the frustration that had flared only moments earlier had already faded.
He turned to Maya and let out a breath.
“I’m sorry, Love,” he said quietly. “I let my emotions get the better of me.”
He leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. When he pulled away, his eyes lingered on her for
a moment, taking in the quiet innocence that never seemed to leave her.
A faint, self-deprecating smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“You really do have a way of making me rethink things.”
Maya smiled softly.
Damien gave a small shake of his head.
“Fine. I’ll talk to Nick.”
