The Billionaire's Intern (Maya Thompson) novel Chapter 530

His brows drew together ever so slightly.

“Love,” he said softly. “You should try to get some sleep. Even if it’s only for an hour. You can rest again on

the flight.”

No answer came.

Damien frowned faintly and looked down.

A quiet chuckle escaped him.

Of course, she had fallen asleep.

Her cheek rested comfortably against his chest, her breathing slow and even.

Careful not to wake her, Damien slowly lifted his arm, intending to carry her to the bed.

The moment he moved, Maya let out a sleepy little groan and instinctively tightened her hold around his

waist.

Damien remained perfectly still as a helpless smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

Instead of moving her, he settled back against the couch, wrapped his arm around her once more, and held her a little closer before pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head.

“I love you,” he whispered.

Cradling Maya in his arms, Damien eventually drifted off to sleep as well.

A soft knock on the bedroom door woke him sometime later.

He slowly opened his eyes and immediately realized it was still dark outside, with no trace of daylight filtering through the curtains. Instinctively, he checked the time.

5:02 A.M.

Up His Own Mess

Carefully slipping his arm free from around Maya, he gently eased her onto the couch, making sure she was comfortable before quietly getting to his feet and walking over to the door.

He opened the door and was greeted by the sight of Jaime.

He was already dressed, his hair still slightly damp from a fresh shower, and a bright smile stretched across his face.

The excitement in his eyes was impossible to miss.

“Oh! Morning, Brother-in-law,” Jaime greeted cheerfully, keeping his voice low. “Sorry to wake you. Is May awake?”

Damien glanced down the hallway before looking back at him.

“You’re up early.”

Jaime scratched the back of his head with a sheepish grín.

“I don’t think I could sleep.”

His smile widened.

“I’m really excited. I’m finally getting a new heart! Besides, I’ve never been to Japan before.”

His eyes lit up even more.

“Kenji said they have entire buildings dedicated to robotics and technology. He even told me about cafés

where robots serve the customers. I really want to see one!”

He grinned from ear to ear.

“And he promised to show me around after I recover!”
