Priscilla exited her stall first and caught a glimpse of Felicity right as the operative slammed her stall door shut, cutting off her line of sight.
Priscilla felt an intense, burning curiosity about the girl.
Felicity, inside the stall, cursed her timing.
If Priscilla hadn't stepped out at that exact second, she would have had a much wider window to attack Claire.
Priscilla had no idea she had just made an enemy.
Missing her strike, Felicity had no choice but to wait for Claire to leave before exiting herself.
Priscilla waited by the sinks. When Claire emerged, Priscilla grabbed her arm and dragged her out.
She glanced back multiple times.
"What's wrong?" Claire noticed her odd behavior.
Priscilla finally faced forward. "I just saw Howard's gothic girlfriend in there."
Claire didn't see the big deal.
"She was using the bathroom. That's pretty normal."
She didn't find it noteworthy.
"I know, but..." Priscilla couldn't quite articulate the dark, heavy feeling in her gut.
She swore that right before the girl entered the stall, she had shot Priscilla a look.
That look was full of pure, unadulterated malice.
But they had never met, Priscilla hadn't offended her, and barely even spoke to Howard.
Where was that toxic hostility coming from?
Priscilla's sharp instincts had caught Felicity off guard.
Felicity was usually meticulous.
But dismissing Priscilla as a non-target had made her sloppy.
Just that one slip had triggered Priscilla's alarm bells.
"Let's go eat," Claire said. They hadn't had dinner yet, and she needed to check in with Hillary at the cafeteria anyway.
Priscilla glanced back one last time just as Felicity walked out, adjusting her clothes, and quickly spun around.
