The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 1551

At long last, they could get a decent night's sleep, but they were short on rooms.

Rory and Jace James were actually used to sharing a room while on the road, so they didn't mind.

However, Dane didn't take advantage of the situation.

He opted to share a room with Jace, leaving Claire and Rory to take the other.

Rory genuinely hadn't expected the Clan Successor's future husband to be such a perfect gentleman.

"I can't believe Mr. Green didn't use this as an excuse to demand a room with the Clan Successor."

Once inside their room, Rory chuckled and muttered to herself.

Claire let out a helpless sigh. "Even if there was only one room left, he wouldn't try anything."

She had absolute faith in Dane's character.

He was definitely not the type to exploit a vulnerable situation.

Rory nodded with exaggerated seriousness. "Then your fiancé is actually pretty decent."

"Right? Otherwise, I wouldn't have agreed to the engagement," Claire said with a smile.

Dane ticked all the boxes; there was really no reason not to like him.

"Why do I get the feeling you two came on this trip for more than just my protection? Did you have another mission?"

Claire asked curiously.

"Yep, we also wanted to vet your fiancé," Rory admitted without a hint of secrecy.

After all, the Clan Successor would one day take the helm of The James Family, and in modern society, brawn alone wasn't enough; brains were essential.

None of them wanted the next leader to run the family into the ground, so a proper evaluation was naturally required.

Vetting the Clan Successor's future husband was their top priority.

The old clan leader had chosen poorly in love and remained tragically alone, leaving the entire village feeling fiercely protective of her.

"So, what's your verdict on him?"

Claire was quite confident in Dane.

As far as she was concerned, if Dane didn't make the cut, there probably wasn't anyone else in the world who would.
