The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 1670

Reading his mind perfectly, Claire laughed. "People will just assume you're a caring boyfriend buying supplies for your girlfriend."

Agent Grant, a perpetually single man, offered a hollow laugh. "Right."

What girlfriend?

Where was the justice in the world?!

The hospital called shortly after with incredible news: Honeysuckle had regained consciousness.

Honeysuckle was just a codename, and Claire had no idea what his real name was.

Agent Grant offered to drive Claire home, but she waved him off. "I'll drive myself."

"If you take me home in an official vehicle, it'll just put a bigger target on my back."

Agent Grant hesitated, but he couldn't deny she made a valid point.

"Alright, but keep your head on a swivel."

He wasn't entirely briefed on Claire's situation, and Silas had kept his answers vague.

It sounded like Silas's own mission was going sideways, meaning Agent Grant had to secure Honeysuckle and ensure Claire didn't get killed in the crossfire.

Since he couldn't escort her officially, he decided to tail her quietly.

Agent Grant was a master of surveillance; he knew exactly how to blend into traffic.

If Jace and Rory weren't exceptionally highly trained themselves, they wouldn't have spotted him trailing them.

Claire, however, was driving herself.

Her driving skills were top-tier. If a hostile asset had been tailing her, she would have realized it instantly.

But since it was just Agent Grant trying to keep her safe, she didn't bother trying to lose him.

Agent Grant, however, was completely oblivious to Jace and Rory's existence.

Noticing a dark SUV mirroring Claire's every move, he assumed it was the syndicate trying to locate the USB drive.

He had no idea how many shooters were in the vehicle, but he was terrified for Claire's safety and furious at their sheer audacity.

Trailing a civilian in broad daylight just to find out where she lived?

These lunatics had zero regard for the law. They had gunned a man down in the street, infiltrated a hospital to finish the job, and now they were hunting the girl who had merely spoken to him.
