The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 1694

While she wanted to secure wealthy clients like Claire, she absolutely refused to cross the Zen Marches authorities.

Flora was a slippery operator. The more Claire acted like she didn't want the guy, the harder Flora pushed the sale.

Sure enough, Claire began to feign a reluctant interest.

"Oh? Who exactly is this guy, and why does he fit our needs so perfectly?"

Flora prefaced the pitch by mentioning the man was wanted by the police. He likely had a massive bounty on his head, and since he was clearly from Solenia, it might even be an international incident.

In short, he was a walking target.

But since Claire's group was also from Solenia, they could easily use the guise of 'rescuing a compatriot' to smuggle him out while quietly using him as a test subject.

Even if the authorities back home investigated later, dead men tell no tales.

Trying to save a life and accidentally killing the patient on the operating table? Happens all the time, right?

"Even though he's severely injured, he has a solid foundation. Slicing him a couple of times definitely won't kill him."

"Unlike some fragile locals around here who'd expire the second you touched them."

Who knows if the 'fragile locals' Flora mentioned were actual Kaston residents or just hyperbole.

It didn't matter.

Both sides engaged in a masterclass of psychological warfare, pushing and pulling.

Eventually, they reached the price negotiation.

Eager to unload the liability, Flora only asked for enough to cover his medical and boarding expenses.

Since Claire's true objective was simply to save him, she haggled just enough to keep up appearances.

In the end, Claire purchased Silas for eight thousand dollars.

After pocketing the deposit, Flora looked at them like they had just scored the deal of the century but were still complaining.

"This guy is prime real estate. He has a gorgeous face, but my medical setup here is just too basic."

"You girls are doctors, right? If you patch him up, you'll definitely make your money back off him later."

"..."

Flora kept rambling, but when Claire's team finally saw the man, they were horrified.
