It wasn't until Claire finally reached her floor and said goodbye that Yorick secretly slipped away from the academic building.
"Who was that guy walking with you? You two seemed to be having a great time talking, so I didn't want to interrupt," Priscilla Hastings said, walking in right on Claire's heels.
"Oh, he's a senior in the dance department. My sister's classmate," Claire replied smoothly.
The classmates who had their ears perked up for gossip looked visibly disappointed.
Everyone in their class knew Claire had a fiancé.
But the rest of the university didn't.
Because of that, plenty of guys were constantly trying to pursue her.
However, since she was rarely on campus, the rumor mill didn't have much to work with.
Before, people had gossiped about how tying herself down with an engagement at such a young age left her no way out.
College was going to last several more years. Could she guarantee she wouldn't meet someone better?
What would she do then?
String two guys along, or cheat and break off her engagement?
There were rumors that her fiancé was incredibly powerful. If she broke it off, there would definitely be a massive spectacle to watch.
But those dark thoughts only belonged to a small fraction of the students.
Most were focused on their studies and only tuned in for the occasional drama.
Some even hoped Claire wouldn't ruin the medical school's reputation.
Priscilla's three roommates, on the other hand, were already putting on a united front while secretly despising each other.
They rarely hung out together anymore.
However, when it came to disliking Claire and Priscilla, the three of them were completely in sync.
Sitting together right now, they were straining their ears to eavesdrop.
"Your sister's classmate is pretty handsome. He's got that moody, artistic vibe."
Priscilla had noticed his lean, dancer's build. He was definitely easy on the eyes.
She was just admiring the view, though. She hadn't even had her first boyfriend yet, and she firmly believed that appreciating every handsome guy was just respecting God's gifts!
