Evie Grant had absolutely no idea that Claire and Mary were walking right behind them. Every word of her complaints had been overheard by the very people she was badmouthing.
Hearing Evie's rant, Yvette Young didn't rush to agree with her.
Instead, she replied evenly, "I'll have a proper talk with Quentin. He really can't treat his health like a joke."
After all, the idea that a mere student could help him fully recover and return to the stage sounded like a complete fantasy.
But Yvette also knew her son. He wouldn't buy into such an outrageous claim just because he had a crush on a female classmate.
Unless, of course, the person that classmate brought along actually possessed genuine skill.
Evie, on the other hand, seemed to be at serious odds with Quentin.
Yvette was starting to regret letting Evie come here to look after him.
Evie was an unmarried young woman. Running off to take care of someone else's son could easily cause a stir. Who knew what the Grant family might think?
"Exactly! How can he play games with his health?"
"Besides, even if he can't dance anymore, he can always inherit your business. It's not like he'd have nothing to do..."
Evie's mouth kept running, but Yvette's brows had already furrowed in quiet disapproval.
She didn't know a single mother on earth who would enjoy hearing someone constantly criticize her son.
Furthermore, judging by Evie's tone, she didn't care in the slightest whether Quentin actually recovered or not.
To Evie, all that mattered was that he could inherit the family business. Whether he could ever dance again was entirely irrelevant to her.
But Yvette knew her son better than anyone. Returning to the stage was the only thing he truly cared about.
Having trained since childhood, Quentin loved dancing more than life itself.
How could he ever willingly give it up?
If there was even a sliver of hope, he was going to take it.
It was precisely because she knew her son's mindset that she had rushed over so urgently.
She was terrified that if she arrived a second too late, he might have already rashly submitted to some medical student's experimental rehabilitation.
