The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 1775

She couldn't exactly wait for Dane to arrive and drag an unconscious student to the ER together.

"No can do," the guard said. "She's out cold. She needs a hospital immediately. You better grab a cab and take her yourself."

While he wanted to help, he was tethered to the security monitors and couldn't play nursemaid.

If things went south, he wouldn't know what to do.

Under normal circumstances, if a student got hurt, he would have rallied others to help.

But since the girl had approached Claire directly, the responsibility landed squarely on her shoulders.

Claire was about to say she didn't have time, but the guard was clearly swamped.

"Tell you what," the guard compromised. "I'll call a campus vehicle to run her over to the clinic, but you have to go with her!"

"She came to you, and I can't leave this undocumented."

The guard wanted to avoid liability, which Claire understood.

She handed over her student ID.

"I'm Claire, clinical medicine major. My number is..."

Claire recited her contact info.

The guard recognized her instantly as the medical school's rising star.

He was about to agree when someone called out to her.

"Claire." It was Norris.

He looked surprised to see her holding an unconscious girl.

"Norris," Claire greeted him naturally. In front of other students, she kept her tone professional.

Norris was used to it.

He hurried over. "What happened?"

He took the girl's weight off Claire, stepping in to help.

However, to maintain professional boundaries, Norris carefully avoided pulling the girl into a full embrace.

"She was messing around on a skateboard and nearly took me out. I dodged, and she face-planted into the gate."

Claire pointed at the massive swelling on the girl's forehead.

It looked brutal.
