"As long as Chief Stone handles this fairly, I'm fine. Otherwise, with him screaming about how he runs these streets, I'd be too terrified to ever walk around this neighborhood again."
Macy was not someone who let things slide easily, especially since Keegan was involved. She glared at Quinton with pure hostility. With her cousin backing her up, she had no intention of letting the thug off the hook.
"What?" Silas had never heard that claim before.
He shot a murderous glare at his brother-in-law. "You've been acting like that out there?"
Seeing his brother-in-law genuinely enraged, Quinton finally looked guilty. "I just didn't want to look weak! Besides, you manage this entire district. Doesn't that mean I'm under your protection?"
Silas's temple throbbed. "So that means everyone on these streets has to call you boss? Do the officers in my station have to call you boss too?"
Furious, Silas grabbed a nearby binder and hurled it at Quinton. Whether it was for show or out of genuine anger, the beating was real.
Claire didn't care how the situation played out afterward. Caleb would handle the follow-up.
As for Sophia, who had inflicted the most damage, no one dared ask her for medical bills. Caleb's presence guaranteed that.
Once they were outside, Macy turned to Claire and Sophia with profound gratitude.
"Claire, Sophia, thank you so much! If it weren't for you two stepping in, we would have been in serious trouble tonight!"
A man who casually harassed women wouldn't hesitate to beat them. Macy would never have stood by while Keegan got jumped, so without Claire and Sophia, she and Keegan would have definitely ended up in the hospital.
