"Ah, so you're the young lady of the Churchill family," Achilles said amiably.
He maintained a friendly demeanor toward Claire.
The Churchills were incredibly wealthy, not a family anyone would want to offend lightly.
Even though he wasn't in business, living to his age had taught him the art of diplomacy.
"You flatter me. I'm just an ordinary student. It's a pleasure to meet you, Professor," Claire replied with humility.
Her modesty caught Achilles off guard.
That title?
"I forgot to mention," Baldrick chimed in proudly. "She's an incoming freshman at the Cabinda University this year. Studying medicine."
Claire's brilliance always filled Baldrick with immense pride.
"Oh?" Achilles praised. "She must be quite the academic."
His own granddaughter was exceptional, but if this girl was her competition, he wasn't so sure Latonia would win.
Judging by Baldrick's attitude, he absolutely adored the girl.
However, the previous engagement between the Churchills and the Greens had fallen apart. Were they really planning to continue it with the next generation?
It was already surprising enough that the two families hadn't become bitter enemies. If the broken promise of the older generation was passed down to the younger ones, that would be...
Achilles glanced at Claire, then at Dane.
He had to admit, they were both stunningly attractive. Standing together, they were a breathtaking sight that was impossible to ignore.
He couldn't help but regret not bringing up his granddaughter's feelings sooner, just because Dane was usually indifferent to romance.
He had thought that since Latonia was a lady, she should play hard to get.
Waiting until she returned to the country wouldn't have been too late.
But who could have predicted that a rival would suddenly appear out of nowhere?
Despite his regret, Achilles didn't think he should focus too much on Claire right now.
He hadn't forgotten the main reason for his visit.
"Let's get started on that checkup," Achilles suggested.
Baldrick cheerfully agreed.
