The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 929

"You're a medical student too, right? So what made you throw your life away?"

Instead of answering Levi's question, Claire casually fired one back.

"I..." The smug smile froze on Levi's face. He clearly hadn't expected Claire to come at him so directly.

"Well, guys are just better built for hardship. We're far more suited to be doctors than delicate girls like you."

"Especially in clinical medicine. The workload is brutal. Looking as fragile as you do, are you even going to survive the operating room?"

"Honestly, if you really wanted to be in the medical field, you should have chosen pharmacology, or diagnostics. Worst case, you could've done nursing."

Levi rattled on, oblivious to his own condescension.

He completely missed the way every girl in the vicinity was glaring daggers at him.

"Are you always this sexist, Levi?" Claire's usually calm face tightened into a serious stare.

Levi finally noticed the sudden shift in the atmosphere.

Even Sloane was looking at him with intense displeasure.

"Levi, watch what you say. What do you mean girls aren't suited for clinical medicine? How exactly are we inferior to guys?"

Sloane was deeply driven by her pride. She demanded to be the best—not just among the women, but over the men as well.

Levi's careless comment had thoroughly pissed her off.

"That's not what I meant." Levi looked frantically at Claire. "I just feel bad that you girls have to suffer through the grueling coursework. Don't twist my words."

Claire looked at him with a half-smile. "Feel bad for us? Funny, it sounded a lot like you were looking down on us."

Levi offered an awkward laugh. "How could I?"

He desperately pivoted to Sloane to do damage control. "Sloane, you have to believe me, I would never look down on you."

"You're incredibly strong and capable. You're nothing like most girls."

Though Sloane knew Levi was just kissing up to her, her expression finally softened.

"We have things to do, so we'll be leaving." Claire had zero interest in watching a lapdog beg for attention.

Most heavily depended on modern instruments and lab results to prescribe treatments.

"I've studied it. I just wanted to broaden my skill set, so I chose clinical," Claire gave a brief, polite brush-off before turning to leave.

Without a valid excuse to keep her, Sloane stood there, her eyes darkening as she watched Claire walk away.

Felix escorted the girls out of the cafeteria.

Claire tried to wave him off. "Weren't you about to eat? Hurry back inside before all the good food is gone."

"I'm in no rush. I can grab something off-campus. I really just wanted to thank you properly."

Felix added sincerely, "If you ever need help with anything in the future, just let me know."

Claire offered a polite smile. "I won't be needing any help, but I appreciate the offer."

Norris had just finished his morning meetings and was heading to the cafeteria with a few professors from the math department.

Coincidentally, one of them was the same professor who had taught during the winter camp.
