“You didn't throw the first punch, did you?”
Claire looked at her skeptically.
How could the wealthy heiress tolerate people talking about her like that?
“She was mouthing off! She forced my hand!” Zara Zeller said weakly.
She wasn't happy about losing the catfight.
“Is the other girl hurt?” Claire knew Zara's refusal to take a loss meant her opponent had to be injured too.
Zara scoffed. “Probably. I don't know.”
“So that's a yes.” Claire didn't want to waste her breath.
“What about my face? Will it scar?”
Zara touched her face, looking utterly miserable.
“What are you so worried about? Your family is loaded. If it comes down to it, you can just get cosmetic procedures later.”
Skylar Sommers didn't understand Zara's obsession with her own face.
“You don't get it,” Zara frowned. “I'm terrified that too much of that high-tech stuff will ruin my features.”
Skylar thought to herself, *Okay, I really don't get it.*
“Besides, we're stuck in this training camp. Who knows what it'll look like by the time we get out? I can't get it treated right away.”
“Actually, I have an ointment you could use,” Claire mused, realizing Zara would be a walking billboard.
If the gel worked on her, she'd rave about it to all the wealthy socialites. Selling the experimental scar gel wouldn't be an issue after that.
“What ointment?” Zara grabbed Claire's arm. “Claire, if you can actually prevent this from scarring, I'll owe you my life!”
Claire pried her fingers off. “The name of this experimental scar gel is still pending. It's in production, and we currently have a few trial participants.”
Hearing Claire's pitch, Zara's hopes plummeted.
“Claire, that sounds super sketchy. I don't know if I can trust that.”
Although Zara liked her roommate, she wasn't about to gamble with her face.
Whether it was just PR spin to pacify fans or he'd had reconstructive surgery, there was hope he'd be seen publicly soon.
But Sienna's case was completely different.
Wasn't she supposedly paralyzed?
“Why would I lie to you?” Claire fell silent when she saw the skeptical looks around her.
Zara quickly explained, “Claire, it's not that I don't believe you, but my face is incredibly important.”
“You don't understand. I have an incredibly manipulative stepsister.”
“She loves competing with me.”
“She has to have everything I have. The one thing I'm most proud of is my face, and she can't even come close.”
“If I end up with a scar, I can't even imagine how much she'll mock me.”
Zara was telling the truth.
She found her stepsister utterly repulsive.
