Seeing that Celeste was still maintaining her distance from Trevor, Martha paused and didn’t insist any further.
Celeste chatted with her for a little while longer. When Martha began to feel tired and wanted to rest, Celeste prepared to leave.
Martha asked Trevor to walk her out. Since he and the others were about to go for dinner anyway, she left with them.
Inside the elevator, Miles kept staring at her curiously. Celeste turned her head and shot him a cold glance. “Have you seen enough?”
Miles shot back, “Almost.”
Celeste ignored him.
When the elevator doors opened, she was the first to step out. Trevor and the other two followed behind her.
Noticing that she was keeping a few steps‘ distance from them, Miles leaned toward Trevor and lowered his voice, “Her attitude toward you has really changed a lot. Has she really moved on? But, why do I find that hard to believe?

Beck hadn’t caught what they were saying and asked, “What are you two talking about?”
Miles repeated his question to him.
Beck reacted the same way as Trevor–both simply looked at Celeste’s back without commenting.
As they reached the hospital entrance, Trevor suddenly said “Io is still at the Rodriguez residence.”
Celeste’s steps faltered for a moment, but she didn’t say anything and continued walking toward the parking lot.
Then, she noticed that Wynn was still there.
Seeing them come out, Wynn stepped toward them.
Celeste, however, walked straight to her car, while Trevor, Beck, and Miles all headed toward Wynn instead.
Celeste got into her car and drove away without paying any attention to the four of them. She drove back to the Rodriguez residence..
Seeing her return, Jordyn, who was playing with Jamie and Hector, looked up and said, “Mom, you’re back?”

Celeste closed the door, shutting out the cold air from outside. As she took off her coat, she responded, “Mm.”
Jordyn put down her tablet, ran over, and hugged her leg. “Mom, Dad said I can stay with you for the next couple of days! After we visit Nana at the hospital tomorrow morning, can we go skiing?”
Before Celeste could reply, Jamie and Hector chimed in, “Yeah, Celestel Let’s all go together.”
Celeste answered, “Alright.”
Jordyn cheered happily. “I’m going to call Dad and tell him! With that, she grabbed her phone and dialed Trevor.
Celeste didn’t listen to their conversation and simply turned around to head upstairs.
The next morning, when she arrived at the hospital, Wynn was not there. However, it seemed like Trevor had moved his work to the hospital.
When Celeste and Jordyn walked in, he was busy handling documents.
“Dad!” Jordyn called out.
Before Trevor could respond, she noticed that the nearby table was filled with all sorts of fruit, pastries, and drinks that were popular among young people and children

I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
Beck being the only actual adult to ask a child what’s wrong...
Can we get to the point its stagnant and I am unimpressed,I don't care about the company being in trouble nor the inner thoughts of others. Come on now....

Wynn has no shame. And keeping the staff well beyond their work hours is an a-hole move....
I am again fed up with the storyline..it is just exhausting to keep reading only one side of story - where people are living in their own righteous bubble and assumptions....
