Beck had barely ended the call when Shanice came running with a light wand in her hand. “Uncle Beck, can I call Jo on video?”
After a quick pause, Beck nodded. “Sure.”
The call went through, and Jordyn picked up almost instantly.
The moment the call connected, Shanice beamed. “Jo, look have a light wand!”
Worried that Jordyn couldn’t see it clearly, Shanice passede phone to Beck and ran a few steps away to show the whole thing.
They were in their garden, and it was dimly lit. Hence, the light wand stood out even more.
Jordyn was still taking it in when Shanice ran back, grinning. “I got this as an Ember Festival gift! Isn’t it cute?”
There were many things from two or three years ago that Jordyn could no longer remember.
But seeing Shanice with the light wand triggered a few fleeting memories.
“Yeah, it’s cute,” she said. “I think I used to have one too.
‘Really? Don’t you have a light wand now?”
Jordyn shook her head. Watching Shanice run around with the light wand actually looked fun.
Shaking her head again, she blurted out, “I’m going to ask my dad to get me one! Don’t hang up–we’ll talk in a bit”
Before Shanice could reply, Jordyn dashed upstairs with her phone.
A day before the Ember Festival, a small part of the Flemings‘ extended relatives would be at the Fleming Manor to celebrate the Ember Festival.
And now, Trevor was busy mingling with others.
When he saw her running over, Trevor excused himself and carried Jordyn a little further away. “What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Shanice got a light wand as a gift. I want one too.”
“A light wand?”
“Not those I have in my room.”
With that, Jordyn held up her phone. “Shanice, show my dad your light wand.”
“Oh…”
Shanice took a few steps back, revealing the whole thing.
After Trevor examined it, he thanked Shanice, “Okay, I got it. Thank you, Shanice.”
“You’re welcome.”
Trevor then asked Beck, who was still holding the phone, “Got any plans later?” Beck hesitated briefly. “Might go for the countdown. You?”

“I’ll be heading out, too,” Trevor said.
Beck wasn’t surprised.
After all, given the significance of the night, there was no way Trevor wouldn’t go find Wynn.
Beck didn’t press further and changed the subject. “Were you tied up earlier?”
“Yeah, I was still entertaining guests,” Trevor answered.
Beck understood.
Being the head of the Flemings, the Ember Festival was never an easy time for him.
“I’ll let you ge
“I’ll let you get back to it, then.”
“Alright.”
Before handing the phone back to Jordyn, Trevor smiled. “Enjoy the Ember Festival.”
“You too.”
Trevor returned the phone to Jordyn. “You two chat; I’ll have someone buy a light wand for you.
“Okay!” Jordyn replied happily.
Then, Trevor walked away,
Beck, too, gave the phone to Shanice so she could chat with Jordyn.
When they had talked about their plans earlier, he hadn’t asked where Trevor was going, just as Trevor hadn’t invited him to tag along.
That alone made it clear–Trevor didn’t want any company tonight.

Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...

I read this novel recently. I just feel, it is exhausting being in Celeste shoes. Not getting a clear break, on the other side - Trevor is comfortably two timing and dragging. He is not really worth and should face the consequences. On the other hand, i also feel that probably he is putting on a mask to push Celeste to achieve her dreams and eventually became a hero. However, his attitude and physical relationship with Wynn - is not justifying my this theory. Let's just wait and watch, i hope it is not too much of a drag...
Depressing if Trevor give up Celeste and propose to his mistress! Poor Jordyn. Thank goodness,I am busy with patients' issues. I can stop here....
Will it make difference to Trevor if he knows how his mistress family malign the mother of his daughter even if he and Celeste are divorcing for his mistress?...
