After dinner, Jordyn mentioned something that made Celeste realize Trevor was away on a business trip.
At around 9:00 pm, while Celeste was taking a shower, her phone rang
Jordyn saw that it was Beck calling and answered it. “Mr. Harper.”
Hearing her voice, Beck paused slightly. “Jo.”
Before Jordyn could contine, Celeste stepped out of the bathroom. Seeing her, Jordyn handed her the phone and said, “Mom, it’s Mr. Harper.”
“Okay.” Celeste took the phone, but before she could speal, Beck beat her to it. “I hope I’m not disturbing you?”
“No.”
Beck said, “I’m out of town right now, so we’ll have to reschedule our dinner for another time.”
“That’s fine.”
After hanging up, Celeste was about to dry her hair when Jordyn suddenly looked at her in confusion.
Noticing her gaze, Celeste asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Mom, you know Mr. Harper too?”
“Yes.”
“Okay.”
The next morning, Celeste went downstairs to make breakfast.
About half an hour later, as she was heading back upstairs, she saw Jordyn on the phone. When Jordyn spotted her, she ran over and handed her the phone. “Mom, it’s Dad”
Celeste took the phone. “What is it?”
“I can only get back on Wednesday. Until then, I don’t think Jo will want to leave the Rodriguez residence. I’ll have to trouble you to take care of her for the next few days.”
Celeste listened silently, pressing her lips together before hanging up.
After dropping Jordyn off at the kindergarten on Monday, Celeste headed to work.
She had a major project deadline, so the entire week was hectic. She often worked late into the night, only returning home at midnight.
Even though Jordyn was staying at the Rodriguez residence, they only had time to chat briefly in the mornings.
On Thursday afternoon, Jordyn called to tell her that Trevor had returned. That same day, after school, she went straight back to the Fleming manor.
On Saturday, Celeste, Beck, and Shanice met up at an amusement park.

Upon seeing her, Beck said, “It’s been a while since we last met.”
“Is that so?” Celeste hadn’t really noticed.
Beck looked at her, as if he had something on his mind, but he didn’t say it right away.
It wasn’t until they were almost ready for lunch that he hesitated before speaking “You know InnovaTech has multiple shareholders, right?”
“Mlun.”
“Trevor plans to buy out my shares, as well as Miles‘ and the others‘ and give it to…” He didn’t finish his sentence, but Celeste knew exactly who he was referring to–Wynn
She had seen firsthand how indulgent Trevor was toward Wynn at InnovaTech
Previously, she had even joked that she wouldn’t be surprised if he outright changed InnovaTech’s name to Locket. But she hadn’t expected him to actually go through with something like this.
InnovaTech might be a relatively new company, but it was still worth billions. He was certainly generous to just give it away like that.
At that moment, Beck added, “Miles and I agreed to it.”
“Mm.” She wasn’t surprised.
Beck, Miles, and Trevor had been close friends since childhood, practically growing up together. Given their bond, she could understand why they agreed.
The reason Beck brought this up was to let her know that InnovaTech was changing hands–yet YodaVision and InnovaTech still had business ties.
He knew how deeply Celeste had once loved Trevor.
Before learning about her connection with Matthias, he had truly believed she had moved on. But now, he wasn’t

I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
Beck being the only actual adult to ask a child what’s wrong...
Can we get to the point its stagnant and I am unimpressed,I don't care about the company being in trouble nor the inner thoughts of others. Come on now....
Its a good thing both jordan parents are loaded. They going to spend a lot for Jordan therapy. 😂...
Wynn has no shame. And keeping the staff well beyond their work hours is an a-hole move....
I am again fed up with the storyline..it is just exhausting to keep reading only one side of story - where people are living in their own righteous bubble and assumptions....
