Beck was a little disappointed to hear Celeste couldn’t make it to Shanice’s birthday, but he understood
. “It’s okay Work takes priority; Shanice will understand”
Right after she hung up, just as Celeste finished freshening up, her phone rang again.
It was a video call from Beck
Only Shanice would use his phone to video call her.
Celeste picked up, and Shanice’s bright little face popped up on the screen.
She smiled, but before she could get a word in, Shanice started talking excitedly.
“Good morning, Ms. Celeste! Uncle Beck told me you can’t come to my birthday party tomorrow. It’s okay! If you’re busy now, you can celebrate with me next time.”
Then, without pausing, Shanice added, “Uncle Beck said you’re baking a cake and got me other gifts as well. Thank you, Ms. Celeste! That’s so sweet of you. My grandma says that when someone gives you a gift, you should treat them to a meal. There’s this new restaurant that’s super good–are you free tonight? Uncle Beck and I want to take you out!”
Celeste couldn’t help but chuckle. “I’m free tonight. Thank you, Shanice.”
“You don’t have to be polite, Ms. Celeste. Treating you to dinner is what I should do!”
Shanice was in a hurry to get to school. After saying goodbye, she quickly handed the phone back to Beck
Celeste and Beck confirmed a time for dinner and then hung up.
Later that morning at work, Celeste mentioned to Matthias that she needed to return to the base again the next day.
Matthias gave her a quick pat on the shoulder. “You’ve been working hard. I’ll take care of things with the R&D team; just go do what you need to do.”
“Alright, thanks.”
Celeste usually stayed in the office until past 8:00 pm.
However, she started shutting things down and getting ready to leave a little early at around 6:00 pm on that day.
Kieran stopped at her office. He was a little surprised when he saw her packing up. “Clocking out early today?”
“Yeah I’ve got something to take care of,” she said, then she remembered. “Oh, right. I’ll be out of town for a few days starting tomorrow. If anything comes up, talk to Matthias directly.”
“Again?”
Celeste murmured a reply.
Kieran didn’t respond.
She had just gotten back, and now she was heading out again.
About 30 minutes later, Celeste pulled into the restaurant Beck had reserved.
As she stepped out of her car, Beck and Shanice arrived as well.

The moment Shanice spotted her, she came rumming, “Ms. Celeste!”
Celeste crouched down and hugged her.
Glancing around at all the high–end cars, Celeste commented, “This place is seriously booming ”
Beck chuckled softly. “The owner really knew how to build hype. It has become the place to meet if you want to talk business.”
“I see
“Let’s head inside,” Beck said.
“Okay.”
As they walked toward the entrance of the restaurant, Wynn stepped out of her car nearby, still on a call.
She ended the call, closed the door, and turned around to head toward the restaurant-
But at that very moment, the sight of Celeste, Beck, and Shanice walking together came into view.
Seeing that, she froze, and her steps halted abruptly.

I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
