Kevin had flown in from another province to discuss business with her and Matthias.
At noon, Celeste and Matthias took Kevin out for lunch.
Their collaboration was already close to being finalized. So, while on the way, Matthias asked when Kevin planned to leave.
Kevin smiled and said, "I'll stay an extra two days this time, because I have another business meeting tomorrow."
Matthias asked with interest, "Oh? What kind of collaboration?"
"It's with InnovaTech."
Upon hearing that name, both Celeste's and Matthias's smiles faded slightly.
Kevin didn't notice their change in expression. He was unaware of the feud between YodaVision and InnovaTech.
Then, he continued, "InnovaTech made a breakthrough recently. I've heard people in the industry say their future development prospects look very promising.
"Yesterday, Ms. Locket from InnovaTech called and proposed a collaboration. I thought it sounded pretty good, so I agreed."
Lately, both Matthias and Celeste had been extremely busy and hadn't had time to keep up with such news. Now, hearing this out of the blue, their expressions darkened.
After glancing at Celeste, Matthias finally said, "Is that so..."
They chatted a bit more and soon arrived at their destination.
After lunch, just as they were about to leave the restaurant, they ran into Wynn and her group in the elevator.
"Mr. Locket." Seeing Wynn and Howard, Kevin greeted them warmly.
They didn't expect to run into Kevin, Celeste, and Matthias either.
When Kevin greeted them, Howard and Wynn smiled and responded, "Ah, Mr. Thatcher!"
After some polite small talk, Kevin looked at Celeste and Matthias. "Ms. Locket, these two are—"
Matthias gave a faint smile. "No need to introduce us. We're acquainted."
Kevin chuckled, "Right, we did meet last time. My memory's really failing."
He couldn't help but praise, "Mr. Locket and Ms. Locket, your company is developing so well. It's truly enviable."
Wynn and Howard smiled modestly at the compliment.
Ever since InnovaTech's tech department recently overcame a major bottleneck, the news spread quickly. InnovaTech's autonomous vehicle project suddenly gained a competitive edge in the industry.
Now everyone in the field was predicting that if things continued smoothly, InnovaTech could be worth over ten billion in the future.
When they got back to the office, just as they were discussing their upcoming meeting, they were suddenly informed that the final compensation payment of over 100 million from InnovaTech had already been transferred.
Matthias paused. "They raised the money this quickly?"
Celeste replied, "Looks like it."
They both fell silent.
After a while, they returned to discussing work.
Later that afternoon, just after a meeting, Celeste suddenly got a call from Lottie.
"Cel, did you hear about InnovaTech?"
"I did."
"That bitch's got some serious luck. If InnovaTech's autonomous vehicles really turn out to be that competitive, then wouldn't that mean—"
Celeste gripped her mouse tightly. Before she could speak, Lottie continued, "And I heard that your scumbag father's company is also doing better.
"They might even win the government's smart traffic construction project for the transportation platform. If they actually land that project, then Locket Tech will make a name for itself.
In other words, Trevor had single-handedly helped both Wynn and the Locket family establish themselves firmly in Baumond.
Watching the Locket family rise, Lottie was truly filled with resentment. "Why? Why do those scumbags get to live better lives?"

I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....

I am again fed up with the storyline..it is just exhausting to keep reading only one side of story - where people are living in their own righteous bubble and assumptions....
