Upstairs, while unwrapping the gift Trevor had given her, Jordyn chatted with Celeste.

Celeste was listening quietly by her side when her phone suddenly buzzed.

It was a message from Trevor.

"I have to fly back to Andostan tomorrow afternoon for work. The divorce might need to be postponed another week."

Celeste frowned as she read the message and began typing a reply. "Can't you fly back on Monday morning instead?"

Trevor replied quickly. "I tried, but it's not possible. Sorry."

Celeste pressed her lips together and didn't reply.

Perhaps sensing that she would be upset, Trevor sent another message. "Even if I can't make it back by next Friday, I will definitely be back before the Monday after that. Rest assured."

Since he had now given a clear timeline, Celeste felt a bit more reassured.

She didn't reply further and set her phone aside.

Trevor likely knew she had read the message. Since she didn't respond, he didn't send her any more.

After chatting with Celeste for a while, Jordyn grew sleepy and soon fell asleep.

Celeste tucked her in, then went to the bathroom to shower. She had been exhausted from the day's work.

After showering, she got into bed and was about to turn off the lights.

Sensing her presence, Jordyn reached over and curled up in her arms, mumbling softly, "Mom... Mom..."

Thinking she was awake, Celeste responded gently, "Mm-hmm. Go to sleep."

But Jordyn didn't reply. When Celeste looked down, she realized the girl was still asleep—yet her small hand was tightly clutching her clothes.

The next day, Trevor arrived on time to pick Jordyn up.

She had already changed and was carrying her little backpack. When she learned Trevor was outside, she grabbed Celeste's hand and pulled her downstairs.

The rest of the Rodriguez family members, Betty and Ivan, knew Trevor was outside, but pretended not to see him. They didn't greet him or invite him in.

When Jordyn said goodbye to them, they simply said, "Have fun, Jordyn."

Since she was pulling Celeste along, Celeste had no choice but to go outside to send her off.

Linda pouted and echoed, "Exactly."

Even though Trevor was divorcing Celeste because of Wynn, and Wynn had said that no matter what, he'd be back by the Monday after next to finalize the divorce, they were still uneasy.

As long as he and Celeste remained legally married, there was always the chance something could change.

So, even if Trevor couldn't marry Wynn immediately after the divorce, they all hoped the divorce could happen as soon as possible.

Wynn herself naturally wished for the same. But with things as they were, all she could do was wait.

Still, when she thought about how Trevor had found time from his packed schedule to fly all the way back from Andostan just to celebrate Jordyn's birthday, it made Patricia a bit uncomfortable.

She said, "Trevor really is overly devoted to that daughter of his."

Wynn didn't respond.

After all, she understood better than anyone how much Trevor valued and cared for Jordyn.

Noticing that Wynn didn't look too pleased either, Patricia comforted her. "Don't worry. Once you and Trevor have a child of your own, given how deep your relationship is, I'm sure he'll love your child even more."

Wynn simply responded with a hum.
