Trevor had been busy the whole time and didn't have time to bother with Miles.

Beck replied indifferently, "Got it. Deal with the flowers however you want. You can go now."

"Yes, sir."

After the secretary left, Miles raised his eyebrows and smiled. "Nothing happened these past two days, so I thought she'd given up. But turns out..."

He couldn't help adding, "To be honest, that heiress from Hunt Corporation—looks, education, background, personality—she's supposedly flawless. What exactly is it you don't like about her?"

Beck paused, turned his head to glance at him, and said with clear disdain, "You came all this way just to gossip?"

Miles laughed. "You're just figuring that out now?"

"Keep talking and I'll throw you out."

"No, seriously," Miles insisted. "I've met Ms. Hunt myself. She really is great. You're really not the least bit interested?"

Seeing the look Beck gave him, Miles quickly added, "I just think, well, you're not exactly young anymore either. It makes sense that your mom is anxious. But if you don't like this Ms. Hunt, then what kind of woman do you like? Tell me, I'll introduce someone—"

Beck put down his pen. "Say one more word and I'll have someone throw you out."

It really had been quite a while since they last saw each other.

Truthfully, this matter didn't require Beck to come in person. But he made the trip anyway just to see her.

Celeste didn't expect him to come personally either. Still, she didn't think much of it—just assumed it meant he took their collaboration seriously.

Kieran only found out later that Beck had come to YodaVision.

He happened to need to speak with Celeste urgently and went to the meeting room to find her.

Beck had been smiling and chatting with Celeste, but the moment he saw Kieran walk in, the smile on his face faded noticeably.
