Celeste always said she was busy and that she didn't have time.
But no matter how busy she was, no matter how little time she had, there should at least be time to make a phone call, right?
Yet when Jordyn called her, she rarely called back. As for her taking the initiative to call, that was even rarer.
It was as if, in her heart, everything else was more important than her.
The more Jordyn thought about it, the more wronged she felt, and tears kept streaming down her cheeks.
Seeing how pitiful she looked, before Celeste could say anything, Trevor started wiping her tears and said, "Your mom really is very busy with work right now. Next year, though—after next year, your mom's work shouldn't be so busy anymore."
After all, Jordyn was still a child. Hearing Trevor's comforting words, the grievance and sadness in her heart immediately eased a lot.
She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and looked at Celeste with hopeful eyes.
"Really? Will you have more time after next year, Mom?"
Jordyn was the daughter she had given birth to. Even though she had already given up custody, she still wanted her to live well.
Looking at Jordyn's hopeful eyes, Celeste couldn't bring herself to crush that glimmer of hope at this moment.
But as for what Trevor said about her being less busy next year, she couldn't give that kind of promise lightly.
"My work should basically be wrapped up by the end of this year, but next year there may still be other things to deal with, so I can't promise that I'll definitely have time..."
What Celeste said wasn't exactly what Jordyn wanted to hear, but she had seen the trace of reluctance on Celeste's face just now and knew that Celeste still cared about her.
Realizing this, she didn't mind the rest so much anymore.
Her mood improved.
She climbed down from Trevor's arms, ran over to hug Celeste, and said, "Alright then, even if that's the case, it's okay. But Mom, when you do have time, you still have to answer my calls more often."
Because Jordyn talked nonstop, the meal lasted quite a while.
It wasn't until she was tired and sleepy that she finally began to wind down.
Knowing that Celeste didn't have the strength to carry her, she climbed into Trevor's arms and drifted off to sleep.
Once Jordyn was asleep, only Trevor and Celeste were left, facing each other in silence.
Celeste glanced at the sleeping girl in his arms, picked up her bag, and stood. "I'll go now. You... take good care of her."
Trevor said, "Alright."
Celeste said nothing more, pulled the door open, and left the private room.
Trevor remained seated with Jordyn in his arms for a while before finally getting up to leave.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
I’m not liking where this is headed.. I’m getting the sense that the author is following the revenging husband storyline and Trevor did all this just to avenge his wife...
Isn't this a company that Celeste and Matthias work for? This will be a fatal blow to those scoundrels....
I'm so excited for tomorrow! I wonder what happened to Jo... What is the story behind that court summons?...
A court summons? Oh my God, what happened?...
Here we go again…drip-drop. One page a day instead of the promised 5 Chapters and even that stops suddenly so we never know if the story will advance. I swear this author is writing the new page on their lunch break and laughing at us when we get frustrated....
I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....
Wynn's reputation is over. I read all these chapters for this moment... I'm really glad that Matthias finally said everything at once. All thanks to the fool Quinton...
So we're going to keep going in circles atp, nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite, how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself. All we're getting is reaction's from side character's who don't matter...
Yes.. I'm looking forward to the upcoming chapters......
I don't really understand the writer. Why are Trevor and Celeste silent now? Isn't it about them?...
