The flood got worse.
Although the Fleming Manor hadn't been much affected thanks to its geographical advantage, the cell signal grew unstable once night fell.
Based on the heavy rain warning she'd received that afternoon, she might not be able to leave the manor tomorrow to return to YodaVision for work.
That evening, after dinner, Celeste reported her safety to the Rodriguez family, then contacted Matthias to let him know she was currently at the Fleming Manor and might not be able to go to work the next morning.
Matthias said, "The situation is pretty serious now. YodaVision has already announced that employees can work from home tomorrow. So, don't rush. I'll help you handle anything urgent. Let's get in touch again tomorrow."
"Okay."
After that, Celeste sat on the floor with Jordyn, playing with some puzzle toys, while Trevor sat on the sofa reading.
Over an hour later, Trevor walked over.
Celeste didn't look up, but Jordyn did. "Dad? What's up?"
Instead of answering his daughter, Trevor's gaze fell on Celeste. "Want to play chess?"
Celeste did like chess. And Trevor was indeed a formidable opponent. If it were anyone else, she'd usually rise to the challenge. But if it was Trevor...
She gave a faint shake of her head. "Not interested."
Hearing this, Trevor didn't press. He simply shifted topics. "If you're bored, why not go upstairs and read for a bit?"
By "upstairs," of course, he meant either his bedroom or his study.
Celeste's expression didn't change. "No, thanks."
Trevor wasn't offended. He only chuckled lightly, then asked, "Have you looked at the latest journals?"
"No." She had bought the physical copies already, but she'd been too busy to read them.
The computer was right before her eyes. As soon as the login screen loaded, she could immediately tell this was Trevor's work laptop.
But the tasks she needed to handle involved confidential company information from YodaVision.
She could double-check everything before and after using the device to make sure nothing leaked. Yet when it came to technical skills, Trevor was just as much an expert.
And she didn't fully understand the extent of his capabilities.
For him to lend her his personal work computer might mean he trusted her. But for her…
Celeste pushed the laptop back toward him. "Thanks, but no. I'll just use my phone."
Trevor seemed to understand what she was thinking.
When she refused to use his laptop, he merely smiled, nodded, and didn't insist. He shut the lid, picked it up, and quietly headed back upstairs.

This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
