Jordyn handed Celeste the gift Trevor had prepared for her—but just as Celeste reached out, Jordyn pulled it back and clung to her hand coquettishly. "Mom, look at my gift first!"
Celeste paused. "...Alright."
She opened the box as Jordyn watched eagerly.
Inside was a neatly framed oil painting. The person in the painting was her. In the lower right corner, a line of small words read: "To my Mom, happy birthday."
Celeste felt her heart jolt as if struck. Her hand froze midair, gripping the frame.
Jordyn shook her hand gently. "I painted it half a month ago! Do you like it, Mom?"
Snapping out of her reverie, Celeste looked at her daughter's hopeful face. Her emotions were a tangled mess, but she answered honestly, "I love it. You're getting really good at painting, sweetheart."
Hearing that, Jordyn's face lit up with pure joy. "If you like it, I'll paint another one for you next time!"
"...Okay."
Satisfied, Jordyn finally stuffed Trevor's gift into her hand. "Mom, I have to go to school now or I'll be late! I'll come again tonight to have dinner with you, okay?"
"...Alright."
At some point, Betty and the others had also come out. Jordyn waved at them cheerfully before hopping into the car and leaving.
Once she was gone, Celeste turned back silently.
The fact that Trevor sent a gift didn't mean he wasn't still going through with the divorce today—so no one in the Rodriguez family said a word.
Adeline broke the silence. "The pancakes are ready, Cel. Come have some first."
When he opened it, Betty, standing beside him, froze.
Hector blinked. "Is this... a red diamond?"
Adeline, who knew a thing or two about jewelry, came closer for a look—and her eyes widened.
It was a red diamond. A massive one—easily over a hundred carats. An extremely rare gemstone of that size... Its value was unimaginable.
Hector remembered hearing about how Celeste had once auctioned a diamond to pay for Isabelle's medical treatment.
He didn't know much about gems, but judging from his mother's and grandmother's reactions—and the way the stone glittered like fire in his palm—he could tell this wasn't just expensive.
Seeing his confusion, Adeline finally said, her voice low, "This red diamond... is even purer and rarer than the one Cel had before—almost twice as big. I think it's worth at least two billion."

Another saviour debt?? Seriously?...
I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
My fav novel post us more chap per day...
