Celeste thought so too.
When there were fewer disputes between both parties, filing for divorce could go quite smoothly.
However, she would soon have to make a trip to the military base, and her departure and return dates were uncertain.
If she filed for divorce as the plaintiff and missed the court date, her case would be dismissed. In that case, it might be better to proceed with a divorce by mutual consent instead.
At least with divorce by mutual consent, once the mandatory waiting period ended, she and Trevor could go collect the divorce certificate at their own convenience. Things might even go more smoothly that way.
Since she was sure that if Trevor had time, he would be the first to contact her to finalize the divorce at the courthouse, she hadn't bothered to reach out to him yesterday.
After all, if he was busy, there was no point in her pushing him every day.
But now—
Celeste looked up at Trevor's figure, a faint frown forming between her brows.
If a party filed for divorce, the defendant didn't have to appear in court. It wasn't impossible to have Trevor file as the plaintiff instead, but—
Matthias knew she was considering filing for divorce and also knew what she was worried about. So, he asked, "Still haven't decided?"
Celeste shook her head.
Matthias understood her dilemma.
Trevor was too biased toward Wynn and her family. They couldn't be sure that if Trevor filed the case, he wouldn't suddenly change the terms of their prior agreement on the day of the hearing if Celeste couldn't attend.
If he did that while she wasn't there, she would definitely be at a disadvantage.
Celeste didn't actually want anything from Trevor.
In their divorce agreement, she had already given up custody of Jordyn, and as for his assets, she didn't necessarily need them.
But the thought of forfeiting everything and letting Wynn and the Shaws benefit from it didn't sit well with her either.
Trevor didn't reply. He gave Celeste one last look before turning to leave.
As they watched him walk away, Matthias frowned and said, "Is there some issue with this project inside Fleming Group?"
Although he had earlier complained that Trevor seemed free, he knew full well that if Trevor really were free, he would've already arranged to finalize the divorce with Celeste.
So, even if this meeting seemed unnecessary for him to attend, there must have been some reason behind it—perhaps something they didn't yet know.
Celeste had thought of that too.
She shook her head. "No idea. I haven't heard anything unusual from the others I've spoken with."
Matthias frowned and said quietly, "Keep an eye out, just in case. If something happens, we'll need to respond quickly."
Celeste nodded, refocusing her thoughts on work. "Got it."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
I feel like reading the novel from everyone else's perspective, but the main characters. There has never been a glimpse on Trevor's side of thoughts or intentions. He feels like a ghost in this whole storyline. Although i am glad that Mathias revealed the truth about Celeste, but it still feels empty without main character's thoughts or feelings or voices being shared....
Wynn's reputation is over. I read all these chapters for this moment... I'm really glad that Matthias finally said everything at once. All thanks to the fool Quinton...
So we're going to keep going in circles atp, nothing was revealed that we didn't already know,I mean I would've at least liked to see Trevor's reaction to finding out his wife is the co-owner and coder to CUAP,find out who drugged them.Whats happening with the military blacksite, how come Celeste is so quiet she never stands up for herself. All we're getting is reaction's from side character's who don't matter...
Yes.. I'm looking forward to the upcoming chapters......
I don't really understand the writer. Why are Trevor and Celeste silent now? Isn't it about them?...
Who the helly is georgette 😆...
Alas..the truth that has been buried since…is prevailing....
I just love how tables have turned....
About time… now where’s Trevor, Harvey’s and the others public shame???...
After this moment, the day of the downfall of the Shaw and Lockett families began....
