As it was nearing the end of the workday, Celeste's phone rang.
This time, it was a message from Zachary. "2:00 am. Monday. Get ready."
Seeing Zachary's message didn't surprise Celeste.
After the previous round of work at the base had ended, she had already known that she would definitely have to make another trip there in the near future.
After replying to Zachary, she thought of the matter of her divorce from Trevor.
In order to finalize the divorce as soon as possible, she still informed Trevor roughly of her work arrangements.
"I'll also be going on a business trip these next few days. It should take about a week."
If she returned from the trip in time, their 30-day decision period would not yet be over.
If Trevor could make it back as well, they could still apply for a replacement marriage certificate and then go to get the divorce certificate.
Trevor had seemed quite busy lately, so she thought he wouldn't reply until the next day.
Unexpectedly, the moment she sent the message, Trevor replied. "Okay, got it."
He didn't mention his return date at all.
After that, he didn't send any further messages.
Early Monday morning, Celeste went to the military base.
Just as she had expected, she finished most of the work there within a week. However, something unexpected came up at the base, and she ended up staying an extra four days.
By the time she returned from the base to the city, she discovered that Trevor had sent her several messages.
The earliest one was sent a week ago. "I'm back in the country."
She hadn't replied.
Over the next two days, Trevor also didn't contact her again.
But three days ago, he sent a second message. "I'm going to Glenmere on a business trip tomorrow."
The latest one was sent yesterday. "I'm going to Jastovia tomorrow at noon."
After reading the messages, Celeste took a deep breath.
Celeste lowered her eyes and replied calmly, "Is that so?"
"Yeah." Matthias curled his lips.
"The number of projects he has on hand—it was honestly jaw-dropping just listening to it."
Celeste didn't say anything.
To be honest, ever since she first became aware of Trevor in her teens, he had always been busy.
Whether during his school years or after he started working, he spent most of the year flying all over the world. The time he actually stayed in Baumond wasn't all that much.
This year, the reason he had stayed in Baumond so often seemed to be because of Wynn, now that she thought about it.
Because she had come to Baumond.
So this year, he really hadn't been flying around nonstop as he had over the previous ten years.
But she didn't say any of this to Matthias.

Very slow in updating chapters😔.... Tat too only one... It vil be useful if updates have 5 chap a day or atleast 3 per day...
I am getting frustrated with story, what is the point in dragging this on? How come Celeste is always portrayed as the villain when she hasn’t done anything wrong? Get on with outing Wynn, I’m sick of her!...
😍😍😍😍😍eagerly waiting fr next chapters...
Y only one chapter per day🤥 vry sad...
Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
