It wasn't a phone call.
Instead, it was Miles who sent a message in their group chat.
Miles tagged everyone and asked, "Come on, hurry up and tell me, what plans do you have later tonight? Want to go out and have some fun together?"
Beck replied quickly. "No plans. How do you want to arrange it?"
"That's exactly what I was waiting for!"
He then tagged Trevor and Wynn. "What about you two?"
Wynn saw the message but didn't reply. She was waiting for Trevor to respond first.
At that moment, after reading the messages, Trevor picked up his phone and replied. "I'm eating at the Rodriguez family's place right now. Not sure about plans for tonight yet—it depends on Jo."
The moment his message was sent, both Beck and Wynn, who were looking at their screens, froze for a second.
Neither of them had expected Trevor to be spending New Year's at the Rodriguez family's home this year.
Miles, meanwhile, reacted instantly, firing off a string of question marks and exclamation points to show his shock.
"????!!!! Wait—you're at the Rodriguez family's place right now?"
"Yes."
Before Miles could say anything else, Trevor sent another message. "Still eating, not convenient to chat. Have fun tonight."
After replying, he exited the chat, put his phone away, and continued eating.
It took Miles a long moment to come back to his senses.
"Trevor really is—"
For a moment, he didn't even know how to finish the sentence.
Should he say that Trevor doted on Jordyn to an extreme, that he was even willing to spend New Year's at the Rodriguez family's home just for her sake?
But given his current relationship with her as neither a friend nor someone who had confessed his feelings, he didn't even have the standing to make that call.
Seeing Miles's messages in the group chat, he suppressed those thoughts, lowered his head, and typed out a reply.
Elsewhere, Wynn sent a private message to Trevor. "You and Jo went to the Rodriguez family's place for New Year's? Jo must be really happy. Also, Happy New Year."
Trevor saw the message and replied, "Happy New Year."
That was all—no extra words.
Yet Wynn smiled.
Even though she also wanted to ask Trevor out, after seeing what he'd said in the group chat earlier, she knew that even if she invited him, there was little chance he would agree.
Since that was the case, it was better to just send him a message.
If he saw it and replied, it would only help maintain the momentum between them.

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....
Very slow in updating chapters😔.... Tat too only one... It vil be useful if updates have 5 chap a day or atleast 3 per day...

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
