After Celeste walked away, Trevor looked at Jordyn, who was dazzled by all the lantern choices. He patted her head and said, "Since you like them all so much, why don't you ask Shanice what she thinks?"
Jordyn's eyes lit up. Only then did she remember that she had almost forgotten to video call Shanice.
With Trevor's reminder, she immediately took out her phone and made a video call.
Over the past year, Shanice had mostly been living with her grandparents.
She and Jordyn contacted each other occasionally, but they still had a very good relationship.
Shanice's grandparents were very happy that she had a close friend of her own, so every time Jordyn contacted her, they were delighted.

As she said that, she moved the phone slightly toward Trevor. Trevor bent down and greeted Shanice.
"Happy New Year, Shanice."
Seeing that she was worn out, Trevor picked her up.
"If you're tired, let's go back. We can come again next time if you still want."
Nestled in his arms, Jordyn yawned and nodded. "Okay."
Tonight, Celeste and Trevor had mainly come out to accompany Jordyn. They didn't necessarily need to stay out until midnight like everyone else to celebrate the New Year.
Since Jordyn was tired, Celeste also hoped she could go back and rest early.
But before she could say anything, Jordyn tugged at her sleeve from Trevor's arms and looked at her.
"Mom, you're free tonight to come home with us, right?"
After saying that, she yawned again and rubbed her tired eyes.
"Even if you have to cook for Grandma tomorrow, you can go back to Granny's house after you wake up in the morning, right?"

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
