Celeste paused for a moment before replying, "Happy New Year."
She was about to turn off her phone and go to sleep when Matthias sent her another message, asking if she wanted to go with him the next morning to visit Zachary and his wife.
Celeste replied, "Okay."
Only then did she put down her phone and go to sleep.
The villa area was relatively quiet during the New Year period. Without the usual noise of fireworks, Celeste slept soundly until morning.
When she woke up, Jordyn was already awake.
"Mom, Happy New Year!"
Celeste smiled and handed her the gift box she had prepared before leaving the house the day before.

Jordyn was delighted to receive the gift box from Celeste.
After washing up, they went downstairs and discovered that Trevor was already awake and was on the phone.
Seeing them come down, he turned his head toward them and said to the person on the other end of the call, "Alright, Grandma. We'll head back shortly."
After hanging up, he handed the gift box he had prepared to Jordyn.
"Happy New Year."
Jordyn happily accepted it.
"Happy New Year! Thank you, Dad!"
Then she added to Trevor, "Mom gave me a gift box too!"
Trevor smiled and looked toward Celeste.
"Did she?"
After saying that, his gaze lingered on her as he added, "Grandma asked us to go back to the manor."
It was still early. If they headed over to the manor now for breakfast, Celeste would still have time to return to the Rodriguez family afterward.
But Celeste said, "Please help me tell Grandma that I won't be going over."
Hearing that, Trevor didn't try to persuade her.
"Alright."
After the cooking was done, Celeste received a call from Jordyn, saying that she would come over to the Rodriguez family home a little later.
Recently, Isabelle's condition had been relatively stable. She hadn't had any episodes lately, and she even looked a little healthier than she had at the same time last year.
Seeing that she seemed more energetic than before made Celeste and Betty feel genuinely happy for her.
But when they thought about how she had to spend her days either in the nursing home or the hospital, they still couldn't help feeling sad.
The Rodriguez family chatted with the nursing home director for a while longer. After watching Isabelle finish the food they had prepared, they finally left the facility.
After leaving the nursing home, Celeste greeted the other members of the Rodriguez family and then headed straight to Zachary's house.
Zachary and his wife rarely had time to stay home for the New Year.
By the time she arrived, the entrance to Zachary's villa was already filled with parked cars.
After parking her car, Celeste carried the gifts and entered the house.
The people in the living room all turned to look when they heard the movement.
Before Celeste could clearly see who was inside, Nadine walked toward her with a smile.
"Cece, you're here."

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....
Very slow in updating chapters😔.... Tat too only one... It vil be useful if updates have 5 chap a day or atleast 3 per day...

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
