Not wanting to dampen everyone's mood, Martha quickly changed the subject.
The Rodriguez family cooperated and followed along.

Celeste paused before realizing what she meant. Then she said, "I heard Lincoln and Queenie had given their blessings. Trevor's already brought her to meet them."
Ivan and the others had already guessed that Trevor must have done something to upset Martha. But they didn't expect it to be because of this.
At this pace, once Celeste's mandatory waiting period is over, Trevor and Wynn would likely get married very soon.
Betty had only assumed that Trevor had gone against Martha's wishes and brought Wynn home to meet the elders. She didn't expect things to progress even faster than that.
She froze for a moment and then sank into an even deeper silence.
Turning her face away, she looked out the window.
Celeste leaned toward her, about to speak, when she realized that her grandmother's eyes had reddened.
Although Celeste was now capable and well-connected, and no longer someone the Shaw family could easily bully, the Fleming family had immense power.
With Jordyn under Trevor and Wynn's influence, not only would the Rodriguez family never get their justice, but they would have to watch their enemies thrive.
So, how could Betty not feel suffocated by it all?
At that moment, Celeste's eyes reddened too. A thought suddenly took shape in her mind—she would not divorce Trevor.
If she went through with the divorce so readily, wouldn't she simply be handing them what they wanted?
Betty was truly heartbroken. Her emotions had slipped out of control, and she couldn't rein them in. But when she saw the redness in Celeste's eyes and the trace of determination, she immediately understood what Celeste was thinking.
She hated the Lockets and Shaws, but she also feared that if Celeste chose not to divorce Trevor, she might trap herself for life and never find happiness or freedom.

Somehow i am relieved today to see no updates than to be disappointed with yet another irritating show of everyone else's POV but the main characters...
I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
