The others echoed in agreement with Linda, but Wynn said nothing.
She knew better than anyone that Celeste's ability to spend so freely didn't come from Matthias or Trevor.
It was because of her own capabilities.
Celeste relied on nobody but herself, and she had now possessed a level of wealth that so many of them could only dream of.
Wynn's heart sank at that thought. The light in her eyes dimmed, and the hand resting on the armrest tightened abruptly. Her good mood from earlier vanished in an instant.
Meanwhile, Celeste paid no attention to what others thought. After several rounds of bidding, she secured the painting for just over 70 million.
When the auction ended, the owner of the auction house personally came over to greet her, treating her with great courtesy.
It was said that this owner was no ordinary figure and wouldn't show up much at the auction house. Yet he had made a special appearance just to meet Celeste, giving her exceptional respect.
The Lockets and Shaws felt a twinge of envy seeing the way the owner treated Celeste as an honored guest. However, their envy was not intense because they believed that they would live far better than she ever could in the future.
So, it didn't matter much to let her show off for now.
Lilian rose calmly. "Let's go."
"Alright," Linda replied with a smile. But she shot Celeste a glare before leaving with the rest of her family.
Celeste received a call from Jordyn on her way home after leaving the auction house. She said Trevor would be free the next day and had agreed to go out for a meal with them.
Celeste simply responded after listening.

The next day, Celeste headed out on time after receiving Jordyn's message.
Trevor and Jordyn were already there by the time she arrived at the restaurant.
Seeing her, Jordyn ran toward her enthusiastically. Trevor also looked at her. "You're here."
They looked like a happy family of three to anyone watching.
Jordyn got into the car first but lost her footing and almost fell. Celeste, who was right behind her, reacted quickly and steadied her. It caused Celeste to lose her balance.
Seeing this, Trevor reached out and wrapped an arm around her waist and shoulder. "Careful."
He only let go after she regained her footing.
"Thank you," Celeste said quietly before moving to get into the car.
But just as she was about to step in, something seemed to catch her attention. She paused and glanced to the side. However, she saw nothing.
Trevor noticed and asked, "What is it?"
"Nothing," she replied after coming back to herself. Then, she got into the car without another word.
It was only after their car had driven out of the restaurant's parking lot that Xavier and Jorge stepped out of the shadows.

Somehow i am relieved today to see no updates than to be disappointed with yet another irritating show of everyone else's POV but the main characters...
I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
