Even though she said that she was okay, Jordyn pressed her lips tightly together the moment she finished speaking.
Hannah noticed and was about to say something when Jordyn's phone suddenly rang.
Jordyn glanced at it and froze when she saw it was Celeste calling. She instinctively reached out to answer, but then turned away suddenly.
Hannah saw everything and immediately understood that Jordyn's emotional state had something to do with Celeste.
She had seen how attached Jordyn had been to Celeste lately. Although she didn't know what happened, she felt that Jordyn wouldn't be able to resist answering the call.
Smiling gently, she said without trying to persuade Jordyn, "I'll go downstairs and warm up some milk for you."
After Hannah left, Jordyn stared at the still-ringing phone. She knew that if she didn't answer, the call would end on its own.
She shifted her gaze back to the phone and slowly reached out again. Just then, the call disconnected.
Jordyn's heart tightened in panic as she stared at the phone. She hesitated for a moment before she couldn't hold back and picked up the phone.
She waited for a while, but Celeste didn't call again.
Jordyn pouted and hugged the phone in both hands. She finally couldn't resist a moment later and called back.
The call was picked up quickly. "Jo, are you done with your shower?"
Jordyn hummed a response.
Although Celeste answered, she still felt a little sad. Her voice carried a hint of dejection as she asked, "Mom, why did you only call once just now and not call again?"
If she hadn't called back, would her mom not have called again?
Celeste explained, "I thought you were showering. So, I was going to wait a bit before calling you again. What's wrong? Why are you asking that?"
Trevor had just gotten home as well at the same time. Seeing Celeste, he paused briefly before saying, "You're back."
Jordyn had just finished packing her things and came downstairs. "Mom's here?"
Trevor glanced at the backpack on Jordyn's back, then at Celeste, who clearly had no intention of going in. He immediately understood that she was there to pick Jordyn up.
Celeste didn't say anything to him. She just said to Jordyn, "Let's go."
Jordyn then looked at Trevor. "Isn't Dad coming with us?"
Although Trevor still didn't quite understand why Celeste had come so late at night to take Jordyn away, he noticed that she didn't seem upset.
Turning to Jordyn, he said, "I still have an online meeting later. I won't be going."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Breaking Point of Love (Celeste and Trevor)
Applause for Matthias but I’d love to see Celeste stand up for herself too and all this is going on with Jo right there, if she really doesn’t care what people think about her she should take Jo out of there. They can all continue their shenanigans...
Author, please increase chapter length at least. It took me just a minute to read two chapters 😭. Also, W Matthias 🥹...
Matthias grabbing his chance and running his mouth as long as no one stops him. King 👑...
Matthias, you dropped this 👑...
Matthias, man, I love you 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣...
Wait do even Trevor’s friends didn’t know her relationship with Wynn? Did Trevor know?...
The uncovering of truth feels like a kid is peeling an onion layer by layer at extremely slow speed.. Truly exhausting...
Now how will Wynn and Lockett justify this? We've uncovered everything; we must finish this now, immediately....
I feel like the only thing to calm the issue is Zachary showing up and explaining she has been his student for the past 7 years. But doubt that will happen...
This is exhausting! Even with the truth spilled why are we so focused on the nonessential characters assumptions and opinions. This is spending not enough time on the MC. The ping pong of revelations and denial with corrections. Same exhausting pattern 😭😡...
