That afternoon, Trevor called Jordyn after she had finished her competition. "Are you done with the match? How did it go?"
Holding her water bottle and drinking from it, Jordyn happily replied, "First place! I've advanced!"
"Good."
Trevor smiled, then added, "Your grandpa is already home now. Come back to Nana's place for dinner tonight."
"Okay."
They didn't chat for long and hung up soon.
Jordyn turned to Celeste after the call and said, "Mom, Dad asked us to go back to Nana's place for dinner tonight. Let's go back now."
Jordyn had put the call on speaker just now, so Celeste had heard everything.
Trevor had only told Jordyn to go back to the manor. He hadn't mentioned Celeste at all.
If he had intended to invite her too, he would have said something like, "Tell your mom to come with you tonight."
But he hadn't.
So, Celeste calmly said, "I already have plans tonight, so I won't be going."
Celeste often had her own things to deal with. So, Jordyn didn't dwell on it, although she looked a little disappointed.
"Should I ask Dad to come pick me up?" Jordyn asked.
Celeste nodded. "Okay."
Jordyn immediately called Trevor again.
After listening to Jordyn, Trevor simply said, "Alright, I got it."
Although he said that, he didn't personally come to pick Jordyn up. He had sent a driver.
Since Jordyn had advanced to the next round, she still had another match the next day.
Celeste had assumed that Trevor would accompany her. But that evening, Jordyn came back to the Rodriguez residence again.
"Dad's busy tomorrow too. Can you come with me to the match tomorrow, Mom?"
Soon after, Matthias sent another message.
So, the "something important" Trevor had mentioned was, in the end, for Wynn.
Celeste naturally understood what Matthias was implying. After reading the messages, she calmly replied, "Okay."
Matthias was genuinely irritated. He shoved his phone back into his pocket after seeing Celeste's response.
Just then, Trevor seemed like he was about to walk over and greet Matthias and his group.
Matthias immediately turned cold and pretended not to notice him at all. Then he said to the others around him, "Let's go. We'll play over there instead."
Everyone else could tell that Matthias was deliberately ignoring Trevor and felt a little awkward, unsure how to react.
Hearing that, the men visibly relaxed. They quickly followed Matthias after nodding politely to Trevor.

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....
Very slow in updating chapters😔.... Tat too only one... It vil be useful if updates have 5 chap a day or atleast 3 per day...

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
