At that moment, Beck returned, interrupting Jorge's questioning of Caleb.
Seeing him, Jorge greeted him. "Mr. Harper."
Beck nodded, but his gaze settled on Caleb. "Mr. Jennings."
Caleb nodded in return. "Mr. Harper."
The two hadn't crossed paths many times before, but during their last camping trip, they had each discovered the other's feelings for Celeste.
Although Beck didn't know Caleb well, he knew he was an extremely low-profile person. Caleb rarely attended such business banquets because of his profession.
So, the only reason Beck could think of for his appearance tonight was that Caleb knew Celeste would be here.
Their eyes met briefly. That single glance silently confirmed each other's feelings. However, neither man was the type to make a spectacle of himself.
They both calmly looked away after that brief exchange.
Caleb wasn't particularly close to Trevor or Wynn. With Narcissa also present, he had even less reason to linger around the group.
He politely said to Trevor and Miles, "I'm going to say hello to a few friends. We'll chat later if there's time."
Jorge, however, hadn't noticed the silent understanding that had just passed between Caleb and Beck.
He actually wanted to speak with Wynn a little longer. But with Trevor standing right there…
It had been quite some time since he'd last seen Trevor and Wynn together. It looked like their relationship still seemed as solid as ever.
Yet he still couldn't forget what had happened between Trevor and Celeste. To him, the seemingly perfect relationship between Trevor and Wynn was built on nothing but deception.
With that thought, he deliberately looked at Trevor. "Mr. Fleming, let's find some time to talk later."
Trevor seemed completely oblivious of the coldness in Jorge's eyes. He smilingly replied, "Of course. Let's talk when we get the chance."

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
